pls dont ban me for this, but its really REALLY REALLY annoying having to eject and re-load the CD lots of times, and my crappy CD-Drive reads it every 1 of 30 times, so making LoD run is HELL and every activity i have to do in the day its with the LoD miniized because if i close it, its another 40 minutes to start it again, is there some 1.10 crack so i can get rid of this problem?
its the CD-Drive, not the LoD CD, the LoD CD its in perfect condition (bought it 3 days ago hehehe
thx :(
Of course there is. The day 1.10 came out I had to go through a few 1.09 starters until I found one that worked, but nowadays there are no such problems anymore.
I don't think its allowed to post the name of the big site that has the NoCD fixes for essentially all the games, though. There is this weird thing that some people don't like improved starters.
EDIT: for D2, I always install the new starter with a different name and make the desktop icon point to the new one (installation instructions tend to tell you to replace the crappy blizzard thing). That way, updates keep working since all the original files are still there.
yeah... but please a need a link or something because i find alotta sites that say D2 nocd but none of them is trustworthy and im scared about loading my comp with viruses and stuff :xquiet: so i really need some help there
PD: w00t, i could run LoD again! after 32 minutes clicking on "cancel" and then again on the game's icon hehe
You could be helped by copying the Music and Talk files from the CD to your Diablo directory. That would reduce the amount of cd reads the software does.
Or buy a new CD-Rom player. They're cheap these days thanks to DVD-Rom players and stuff...
newegg.com has DVD+-RW Drives with duel layer capasity for $70
ask for it for x-mas,![]()
You can always run an image of the CD, like I've done with games for years.
An image is basically the whole CD, in a file stored on your computer. You can get a program that makes a virtual drive on your computer, like Alcohol 120%, Nero Image Drive, or Daemon Tools (I use this). Then, use a burning program like Nero (also what I use) to make an image file from your LOD CD. If using nero, just select to burn to the image drive as the destination.
Once you have the image, you can load it into the virtual drive program, and it acts as if you have another CD-Rom drive when you really don't. You can then run the game the same way you would from a normal CD-Rom drive.
i tried to make an image with CloneCd (always worked 4 me), and i mounted the image on alcohol 120% and didnt worked, the game still asks me for the CD-romOriginally Posted by Diabolico x64

Well, I don't know how Alcohol works, nor CloneCD, as I've never used either of them. I guess you can try using Nero/Daemon Tools for burning/virtual drive, since that's always worked for me.Originally Posted by Lothies
clonecd/deamontools worked for me but curiously nero/deamon did not.. i thought nero couldnt make a proper image because of some copypretection on lod cd?!?
