I remember when I was about 3 maybe 4 years old, the man at the local grocery store told my mother that Raisinettes now said "may contain peanuts". The man was a friend of my mothers, so they explained to me that these places dont clean machines that process food. For the next 13 years i avoided "may contain peanuts" like the plague.
One by one, year by year i watched my favourite snacks fall victim to "may contain peanuts". I put up with it, until it was too much. I stopped caring, began judging. Lets face it, life without twix just isnt worth it anyways.
then i googled "may contain peanuts"; and stumbled into thi.
Yeah if they don't do that someone will get an "allergic reaction" whether they are telling the truth or not then the company will get the crap sued out of them.
But thats really not good enough. I mean it seems very half assed to me. If they cant garuntee purity of their product who knows what the hell else gets in them?
I think some of the time companies just throw that out there, even if it doesn't contain anything. Some guy might be eating two types of food and then gets an allergic reaction...but the company that has that printed can say he can't blame them.
No this isn't fact..it was just a scenario i thought up..probably not even true..but it's an idea. :scratch:
So i am the only one that thinks this is unacceptable?
Its like the guys at the factory dump a big bag of substance X into your food, but since they dont know EXACTLY what it is... they throw out some maybes.
