Your using a Drop mod, you say it isn't cheating, but you won't hack an item into the game because it takes the fun out of it?
^Read those a good 5 times, I'll stop here before I start a flame war.
Think about this, if I were to play bnet and dupe (insert item of your choice) zillion of times and start to trade, how would you feel about trading with me? That's how we feel about any kind of game mechanic altering mod.
Some of the response may seem harsh, but that's because we have to deal with people try to trade hacked/duped items, or asking for hacks all the time, and frankly we are tired of dealing with it.
@Mr_Addict
I tried to keep Vikings (or Valhalla) out of this.
I know there are good mods out there with a huge added fun factor and normally they changed the items so much that they can not be exchanged with normal (vanille) D2.
Personally I think it's ok for trading/exchanging items within such mods. Offcourse, name the mod in the trade message.
My concern would be the drop mod, to me it's the same if as using an editor to get all items in the game. Nor would I like to trade items found without drop mod but with all (high-end elite) items on the character found in the drop mod. Using a drop mod yourself would "taint" the character and the "items" found with it.

Yep, I WAS using a dropmod.. As I said before, Ive decided to quit the drop mods, due to say many people saying it takes the fun out of the game!Originally Posted by Arewyn
Yep, drop mod is a cheat, you got that right! But hey, I barely managed to cheat, only making a character to lvl 14 (before it started to bore me!)! It seems to me like, many of you guys doesnt like stuf, "thats not real Diablo"! But Diablo seems to have limited entertainment, so I like to squeeze every computer game I buy to the max, and in Diablo you cant just ignore the mods. To me they are.. another way of playing Diablo.
About this mod trading thing: If people read this thread, I doubt they'll post about mod trading, cause its just annoying, that this thing started with a question.. and now Im a n00b1sh h4xx0r.. If thats the price to make a thread about mods, Its the last one Ive posted!

A few comments which aren't directed at Mr_Addict in particular.
I always find it ironic when battle.net players visit the SP forums looking for shortcuts to "test" builds. In my experience, its far easier to go the other way around: testing builds on battle.net for SP. On battle.net you can get your characters rushed through the game and levelled up to the 80s in a couple of hours. You can trade for items and runes that could be painstaking to locate in SP.
And note to all the SPF regulars: its quite possible the trade forum may attract newcomers who are unfamiliar with our ways. Remember to be patient in explaining why we do things the way we do, point them to the FAQs and guidelines when they are appropriate, and avoid flaming where possible.

@Icebird: Thx... Ive learned my lesson: Mods are OK(right?), just dont be proud of you are using em! (right?) Hacks and mods are DIFFERENT things! (right?) Beware of what you are saying it might offend someone!
A new question has comed to my mind (THIS IS NOT MEANT TO OFFEND SOMEONE! Its just.. I like to know!): Is ATMA a hack?
Thx in advance!

[EDIT] OMG, this thread is good for NOTHING! ATMA wont read modded chars.. So, trading Mod items, is going to get tough!
All right, people, that is really enough.
I refuse to believe that there are those out there who do not understand the difference between earning what you have and cheating. You can argue for months on end about the semantics associated with the concepts, but I won't let you.
To answer the final question posed: No, ATMA is not a hack.
