Hunter question

between HoW and oak, which would be better for sp untwinked hc hunter?
obviously more life is good, but will it help me that much with untwinked gear? same question goes for HoW

my hunter went with HoW for the extra damage that your minions put out. they are pretty much great tanks and if you play smart you wont get hit so there is no need for extra life.

cool thanks. i was leaning more towards HoW, but wasnt too sure. i figured more damage would be nice, but decided to get input first before spending points.

Are hunters actually viable in hell? They have always amused me but I wasn't sure how they faired. Sounds like a fun idea though.

another question i forgot to add. are spirit wolves worth maxing or are points better spent elsewhere?

I just put 5 into spirit wolf for early use that was all pretty much went dire's and bear and maxed Oak also incase I needed extra life. As for viability in hell I was using a widowmaker and it seemed pretty good to me wasnt the fastest killing you can get but you manage.

I have 1pt in Spirit Wolves & my Wolves and Grizzly do fine, +skills boosts the passive bonus just fine.

I went with OakSage since a Might Merc can give you and your pets damage and AR can eventually be solved through equipment (WidowMaker or DemonLimb or LavaGout or Aldur Armor/Boots or Angelics or Hsarus Boots/Belt, etc.). Just run NM Meph and maybe Hell Meph later if you want.

I made Guardian offline (no godly online runes or great equipment), untwinked since it was my 1st HC character, so it's definitely possible and definitely fun. CrushingBlow on you or your Merc especially helps against ActBosses and Hell Ancients.
