Anyone got experiencing this; you and your significant other voting for difference candidates or propositions? How about family?
My vote just got nullified by my s.o.'s vote. :cheesy: And if we got kids, we'd probably persuade them to vote as we see it.
How far would you dictate your kid's life in:
1- political views (republican, democrat, left, right,...)
2- religion (your kid want accept Islam)
3 - sexuality (you know how it goes....)
1. I will answer their questions honestly and to the best of my ability.

1. Girly-man democrats are better off if you put them out of their own misery.
2. I won't let my son blow up the WTC, what would you expect?
3. Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve. Steve should be shot.

1: Give him as much information as possible, preferably mostly unslanted. Then let him make up his mind.

If my parents tried to dictate me anything like that, I would laugh at them.
If feel sorry for the parents that try to create a mirror image of themselves. Children tend to believe the same things as their parents anyways, but it should be by choice, not because of pressure. In fact, pressure often creates the opposite effect.
A parents greatest gift to society, is the ability to produce a free-thinking adult. The very sad reality is that truly free-thinking adults represent a very small portion of any population.
The above paragraphs encompass all three scenarios.
Guess you would disown your kid if s/he was homosexual.Originally Posted by dirkdig
Anyways, I'd answer to the best of my abilities, although I would try to get my kid to use logic and science to come to his conclusions, meaning that s/he probably won't be religious.
My name is Steve, and I'd prefer to not get shot.Originally Posted by dirkdig
I agree with Lunar, A child should not have to be forced to embrace your Ideals. it is akin to brainwashing.
My father and I certainly do not see eye to eye on some subjects, but that does not make us look down on eachother in anyway.
I convinced both my parents to vote for Kerry. Aren't I lovely?
I am also in the Anti-shooting of Lunar camp.
As to the original questions, D2dad's answers are groovy.
