Explanation:

What most of you probably already know is that the last part of his name, GUI, is the shortening of the phrase "graphical user interface," a common term used when referring to computer applications. What you probably didn't know what that "gooey" is the technical pronunciation of GUI; instead of saying "Gee Yew Eye," or "Guy," (which he plays off of with the name), comp nerds in the know say "Gooey." Thus, my use of "Gooey" to refer to him has just become a kind've personal "nerd respect" kind've thing between us, like a term of endearment.
