Jah, aka 3 Months mfing, gone.........

I have been mfing for three months with my level 88 Sorc, CheaperThanAPeso, and after finally aquiring three ists through finding and trading, I then traded them for a jah. While having just found another ist and an archon plate with three open sockets to make Enigma, all I needed was two more ists. I was planning on starting a Hammerdin, but anyway, while running Meph, Andy, and the Pit today, I found Trang's Gloves, went to put them in my stash to keep for a friend, and my Jah is gone.

I was told by a friend that it is gone because it was duped and that since the ladder is restarting tonight, they erased all duped items. Well, how true is this because I was trying to check online about the ladder restarting, but couldn't find any info anywhere. He suggested to me to just wait and start on the new ladder, but what the hell is the point if I can't be sure I am getting a duped item or not? This game is garbage

you can't tell if you are trading for a duped rune or anything, otherwise people wouldn't make dupes because they'd be easy to spot.

as for ladder restarting, there no no official word. I wouldn't expect it to happen for about... 6 months

I had something along these lines happen to me a couple months back... Me and one other guy were doin' meph runs and since he had everything he could want I got all the drops . around the fourth or fifth run lo and behold unique vampirebone gloves . So I grab them and leave to join the next game. No problems I sell all the other crap drops to ormus making sure to leave these gloves off to the side. In that game we just hung around town and chatted for 5 minutes or so then I went to bed as I was dead (tired). The next day I logged on to xfer them to my melee sorc and they were nowhere to be found. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I don't know which one of us you were referring to, but with me, even if somebody did know my password, it is impossible for them to have taken the Jah rune. This is because when I started my runs earlier in the evening, I saw that the rune was in the stash, but after about 10 or so runs, when I went to put the Trang's gloves in the stash, the rune was gone. What I am getting at is that if somebody by off chance did know my password, there is no way they could have taken it while I was doing runs, correct?

As for the vanishing gloves... people always attribute "poofing" to dupes, but there is a significant chance that Blizzard's server-side software sucks. Not everything that poofes is necessarily a dupe; IF Blizzard has indeed implemented some dupe-poofing scheme, there is always a good chance they f*d up and poof some non-dupes as well, just for the fun of it.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if they ingenious "dupe removal scheme" doesn't exist at all, and they just randomly delete expensive items.
