I feel for ya.. Recently I found a level 13 jewel with 9 max, 4 or 5 life, 27 fire res, and -15% reqs.. oh wait, it's still good.

Actually its the 'min dmg' that does it, I think:

From Arreat Summit:

Crimson +5-8 To Minimum Damage Jewels(38)

Substantial min damage is always high lvl req.


On a related note, I found a 30 max dmg jewel with lvl 50 required. Thats PERFECT "vermillian jewel of carnage"

So it's three mods in total...something like crimson rusty jewel of wrath only lvl14.
