Q: ED or MAX

Hey All....

Just got a 6% Arreats for my baba merc... he's using Doombringer and Duress Boneweave... just wondering which is best to socket the Arreats with

More info Doom is 242ED and 18 ED from duress giving a total of 260ED.

A. 15 Max

B. 40 ED

I would opt for the 40% ED jewel.
Doom does, base wise . . .

24 - 52 One Hand
71 - 83 Two Hand

. . . 40% ED would clearly add much more than +15 Max damage on both styles.

OTOH depending on what skill he uses the 15 max will be scaled accordingly (zerk).

Even with my mules full of stuff and not knowing what to do with it I cant bring myslef to using items like Duress, Socket Arreats on a merc. Just cant do it......They get the 1337 of the 1337 ETH Items I find and other junk!

Stinger, I'm sure your mercs appreciate every bit of 1337 ETH Items u give them....

When discussing this last night with Wing asked why not socket the sword too, that way you could get both...

What I couldn't remember was which type of jewel should go in a weapon and which should go in armor, any ideas?

Technically it should not matter. There are some jewels that only work in the item they are socketed in (-15 req...I happened to need to look this up today) most do not matter. However according to this site the ED is reported to be buggy in helms and armour so mybe put that in the weapon. Then just sit back and turn him loose I guess unless there are OK's about.
