I recently traded for a nearly perfect Heavens Light... +3 skills, 298% ED, and 2 sockets. I was using Nords Tenderizer before.... but needed something with crushing blow. I was considering making Kingslayer... as I had all the runes to do it... just needed a good sword.... but Heavens Light won me over cause of the +skill and 2 sockets.
So, now I don't wanna put the wrong thing in those sockets. I noticed the damage on it is pretty similiar to Nords... the min damage is better... but max was about the same...(I was hoping for more). My current consideration is putting in an Eth (-25% To Target Defense) and a jewel I have which is 37% ED and +1strength.
My friend thinks i'm nuts for considering an Eth... but I told him that reducing targets defense is nothing to laugh at.... esp considering my AR dropped from 6K to 4K when I swapped out with Nords. (however, I really wanted crushing blow on the weapon... so, keeping nords is not an option for me). As for the 37% ED jewel... it seems nice to me.... but I know there are better ones out there... the only problem is... when will I get one? I've also considered putting a shael in there somewhere.... man, I want 4 sockets!![]()
I created this frost zealot with the purpose of hunting diablo clone.... but I don't want to focus purely on that... because i've yet to find him yet... so I use this for a lot of PvM playing. I could put a Mal in a socket for Prevent Monster Heal... but I honestly don't think I will need it... my Duress armor has 33% open wounds... and if everything I read is correct... my guy with 98% CB and lots of absorb and maxed resists should be able to take DClone down so fast.... PVM should not be a big issue... surely not worth a Mal.
Any suggestions... does Eth and a 37% ED sound like a good choice?
What build is this for? If it's for a Zealot, I'd go ShaelEth, unless you already have enough IAS for 4 Frame Zeal, then go with that 37 ED Jewel
Edit: Oh yeah, why is your AR so low, did you Max Fanat and Zeal? Or is this not even a Fanatical Zealot?
He's a frost zealot.... no Fanat here... but Zeal is maxed
Zeal
Sacrafice
Holy Freeze
Resist Cold <---almost maxed
... all maxed
Holy shield has about 10 with my +skills
... my intent when do run into Uber D... was to smite him down.... then start to zeal him with 98% Crushing Blow... we'll see how it really works out when the time comes. I don't know if the IAS would help his zeal go any faster... current gear
Guillemes with Um
Duress Armor
HoZ with Um
GoreRider boots
Laying of Hands gloves
T-Gods belt
Highlords Ammy
Dwarf Star ring
RavenFrost ring
about 4 steel grand charms with over 100AR each
.... and my new sceptor .... would a single shael make it a frame quicker?
If you're a frosty, then just go with Shael+Eth as you planned. Along with a bit of IAS elsewhere you'll hit 5 frames and the Eth will help you hit more easily.
Edit: checked the calc and with one Shael in HL, you'll need 35% more IAS to hit 5 frames. You've already got 20 from your gloves, and the highlords puts you over the top.
Err if I remember correctly, DClone, Baal, Diablo, Meph, Duriel, etc and those superbosses can't get frozen even by holy freeze :scratch:Originally Posted by GovernerOfCali
IIRC they don't get slowed (or at least are very resistant to it), but the cold damage still works nicely. Either way, when it comes to bosses all the cold damage does is help take the last sliver of HP after you generously apply CB via zeal/smite (either works fine).Originally Posted by HybrOI
Right now my new Freezadin for ladder two is using GA, Guilli, Shael+Eth HL, 4-pdia uber-resist shield (45% base res Zak), Gores, Tgods/Nos, Lavagouts (Dracs for bosses when he gets higher lvl), Maras, and Raven+Carrion. I'll slap an IAS jewel somewhere later for 5 frames, but even without it he swallows bosses whole (generally use smite to apply CB on the bosses anyhow so Zeal speed isn't a factor).
If they're very resistent to the freezing, wouldn't they be very resistent to the cold dmg?Originally Posted by kryo
