Many times I have heard ed/max jewels are bugged. How?
I have heard they are not bugged when socketed on a weapon but is that true? How about socketing them in armor/helm/shield?
And do ed/min jewels work correctly?
I just want to make this sure before wasting any valuable jewels
Thanks
I think they (ed/min/max) are bugged when socketed off weapon (helm, armor or shield). Never tried, but iirc this what I've heard.
Edit: oh, don't know how... they probably don't give the whole damage bonus.
Edit2: and I thought I had read the "Facts & Formulae Archive" thoroughly...
Clicky.
Scroll down. The jewel part only counts for jewels socketed in armor/helm/shield. I was trying to keep it short, but by doing so I left out stuff.
But these jewels are NOT bugged when inserted into weapons, correct?
Correct. If only correct was 10 characters long I wouldn't have to write this :uhhuh: .Originally Posted by Neely022

The general rule of thumb of "don't put ed/max or ed/min jewels in armour" still holds, but there is a bit more to this bug than those couple of lines.
The actual way it works is, if a non-weapon item has +min or +max damage on it, then added %ed will not affect the min or max (respectively) damage. If it has both +min and +max, then added %ed won't do anything at all. But, if an item has %ed and you add +min or +max to it, it will still work fine.
Unfortunately when you add an ed/max jewel, it adds the +max on first so then the %ed won't affect the max like it is supposed to.
But you also have to be careful with just %ed or +min/max jewels if the item already has other modifiers on it.
There is no bug in putting these things into weapons, just to be completely clear.
