Well...I am interested in buying a pet. Now I'm not talking like a dog/cat type of pet.
I was thinking more along the lines of some type of fish, reptile, snake, or some type of small mammal. Any suggestions on what is a good pet to have, and relatively easy to take care of?
I'm open to other suggestions as well.
rabbit
ten char
Prarie dogs or ground squirrels are quite fascenating and pretty easy to take care of. There are a few things you need to learn to get the most of the experience but it's a labor of love.

Or, can I interest you in a clean, low milage 'diller?![]()
Haha, I knew as soon as I saw Freets name in my thread the dillers' would come up![]()
Get a skunk. You know you want to...
Or maybe a coupla goldfish and some piranhas? Stick em in the same tank, for added effect
cassowary... train it to guard your house.
I hear Komodo Dragons are nice; their minty-fresh breath is their biggest, and most unusual, quality.
If you don't want that extreme you can try to get a chinchilla. They can be difficult to obtain but they can also be very good pets. They have naturally oily skin so you have to provide a special volcanic dust for them to roll in; I find their rolling to be really "neat". One bad drawback is that you aren't supposed to pick them up. Chinchillas can be fragile animals; it is preferred that you sit on the floor and let them get into your lap. They also like quiet, non-excitement areas so they are a "no no" if you have loud kids or enjoy turning your stereo up to super sonic levels.
Hedgehogs are cool as hell, and if you get one young they can be very friendly if a lil weird.
They are also pretty low maintenance.
But give them a really big cage (odd as it sounds..I used a kidde wading pool with high sides).
get a ferret, Long weasel things that can incredible things, Crawl under a closed door, bite your toes in bed.
You can litter box train them, But be sure to get them de-scented
Good suggestions.
But I dont have access to some of the mentioned pets...I live in Canada. (Nova Scotia to be exact) So some of my choices are limited.
