90/90/90/90 resists in Hell - how?

With Guardian Angel, that is. How the hell can people do it? I've been looking through my collection for a setup that could give a paladin that, and the closest i can get is 60/60/60/60, lol. Makes the Guardian rather pointless. Maybe i just have to WSK for a while looking for more shimmering charms, lol.

A Sanctuary runeword paladin shield can add around +100 resist all, depending on what it had before you added the runes. With the resistance scrolls and a decent resist all amulet, or a couple of charms you can reach 90 resist all using guardian angel, but it does take a lot of resistance gear.

If you used a setup such as:

Rhyme Paladin Shield of some description with inherant 40+ resists (Total 65-70 all resist), Kira's Gaurdian (up to 70% all resists) Rare/Magic Amulet with up to 30 all resists this could give about 170 all resist. Combine with the 30% you get from Anya Quests and you're up to 200% all resists or well past 90/90/90/90 in Hell, and thats not even considering any resists on your rings, weapon, gloves, belt or boots.

So it is certainly possible to reach 90/90/90/90 resists without to much effort or exceptionally elite gear.

Thats 117, then we add Anya(30) for 147. We are going for 190.
Missing 43. The easy way to go is a Kiras Guardian, with that you dont need the socket in guardian angel.
But you can also go with Crown of Ages for 20-30 res and 1-2 sockets. For upto 60 res.

So. 72+15+30+30+60=207. Even a bit overkill, and it is all good equipment.
Imagine on a defiant smiter... :drool:

EDIT: But for one of those a Guillames Face with all res jewel, and then toss in some charms would be better.

Well that does make it a little harder, but it's of course still doable it's just take more equipment dedicated towards resists. eg rings 10% all resist, socketing armour/helm for resists and don't forget charms go a long way to filling resistance holes.

By the way, whats a Martyr (using sacrifice at a guess? yes/no/maybe) and whys peasant crown so important? If it's posted somewhere on teh forum don't answer I'll probably find it, if no enlighten me please.

Not Peasant Crown, Crown of Thieves (for the leech, mostly).

And yes, a Martyr is a pally who uses Sacrifice as his main attack, fully synergised.

Guess shimmering charms are about my only go, max i can get with my endgame equip is 60% all :(

Here's my setup of my V/T with 90/90/95/90 resist in hell.
Harle / Pruby
Mara's 23% (still low)
GA / Pruby
HoZ / um (that's 72%)
Sandstorm's (50 pr)
Tgods (+to max lr)
Bloodfist (upgr)
rare dual leech all resist ring (all res 7%, 17% pr)
dwarfstar / ravenfrost
silence phaseblade (75%) (you could go with a wizzy which has also 75%)
That's 187 fire/cold/lightning and 247 poison resist.
With the 30 you'll get from anya that's past 200..
Then I have small charms to lift fire/lightning/cold over 200 to get a little buffer.

ps. You could socket the helm and armor with um's.. (instead of Pruby's) to get another 30% all res

Add pally skills, it is easy to get 95/95/95/90 in Hell.

Otherwise, a barb is unbeatable, NR rocks.

Assassin with Fade on will easily get 90/90/95/90, but what kind of assassin will wear GA?

I used an aerin shield with a natural mod of 43% resist all and socketed it with 4 PDiamonds. Just a little less defence and loss of mods.
