Wow this is a great guide. Very informative. I had heard about searching servers etc but had no idea how to do it. I'll now have to build a character to kill him. I play hc so i'll have to spend quite a bit of time preparing my character. I'm thinking a hammerdin but I was planning on making a Sork next. I guess a sorc with Prevent Monster Heal + a Fast Attacking merc with crushing blow (bonehew + guillames helm) + A wand with lower resist charges on switch would probably be able to get the job done reasonably quickly.

As I understood PMH doesn't work on mercs, can anyone confirm this?

how much STR and DEX would be good with this char? I saw you used a boneweave for your Duress armor.. that needs 158 str to wear correct? So do you have 158 STR?

ZounceHC - i still cannot find a definite answer on if pmh works on mercs or not, ive asked around and gotten yes and no, i dont use a merc with my DC killer, but im lvling one up now and i plan to test it out myself as soon as i get a chance so i can get an answer

Phairdono - i forgot to put in the guide where to put stat points, so ill have that in the next version, i only had skill points and gear, if you are making a paladin, you only need enough strength to equip you gear, so yes, i have 158 because the boneweave duress is the highest strength req of all my gear

as for dex, you want to put in enough points to get max blocking WITH holy shield on, so after you get a point in holy shield, and have all your gear on, cast holy shield and then keep adding dex points until you get 75% blocking, i am at level 82 and i needed 124 dex points to reach max block

Had a cranium basher I kept in the stash(slap it on for baal because he takes sometime to whittle dmg wise), rends, and goreriders.....gave me 95% CB...or 100% if it isn't capped. Might merc with eth cryptic doom (HF and PMH). Once I got his hp down I switched over to my main weapon BOTD Tmaul/LOH gloves and zerked him with 4-25k magic dmg (Synergized zerk is o so beautiful) without deadlystrike....roughly 50% chance of 8-50k. I literally ripped him a new arse with max res/4500 hp he wasn't alive long enough to down my hp either

Hi,

Once I've read (somewhere) that killing DC is verry simple and you won't have to hit him.
Indeed let him spawn at the frigid highlands.
Then walk back to Shenk.
Kill shenk and all surrounding enemies, including DC, will die.
So you don't have to kill the DC himself, but make a good char to kill shenky-boy.

I havn't done this myself, but I think it's worth verifiing. And maybe worth adding to your guide if it's working.

Yep, this has been fixed.

The most important things that lack in your guide are :
- Prevent Monster Heal
- Smite (always hits)
- Drakul's Grasp gloves (or Life Tap charges)

Great guide otherwise, keep it up-to-date !

i havent read every post here but something i didnt see any1 mention was the bug where you can spawn him at 1st wpt in harrogath then lure him to shenk and kill shenk killing everything on the screen, is this still a viable tactic if youre looking for the anni and not the glory of killing him?

so when you get on different servers with different ips...who do you know when or in what game dc will pop up in

I got the list of all the ips but I don't see any that end in .4000 I have diablo running and am in a game...does it HAVE to be in window mode?

Astral - yea i was actually planning on adding that to my guide, a friend of mine uses that ammy, with a 2 dwarf stars and does really really well
