Light sorcs

hey im planning on making a pvp light sorc on new ladder and i wanna know if tehy are any good without godly equipment. Thx

All sorcs are "good" during the start of ladder, the simple synergies and teleport takes care of that. Later you'll have to face absorb lamers, good luck with those.

But in comparison to the other two elements, you can't fully absorb Lightning damage. Rising Sun and Blackoak Shield both cover massive numbers of numeric absorb (50+) after the damage has been nerfed by stacked resists/absorb% (Fire and Cold respectively), whereas the most you can get out of Lightning are a couple with +20 (T-God's and Blackthorn). Not to mention that with a little luck, one can pop out a 40k+ shot from the Lightning spell. That's the kind of damage you just don't absorb.

Unfortunately, that DOES take rather insane equipment... ;(

I have a light sorc on US East non ladder, though not made for PvP. Im thinking the build wont divert much, you'll need as much power behind you as possible. Her current skill setup is as follows:

20 Lightning
20 Chain Lightning
20 Charged Bolt
20 Lightning Mastery
Prerequisites for Tele, 1pt in Frozen armor
Rest goes into Nova for added synergy to Lightning.

She uses these items:
Um Shako
Lidless
Occulus
15% +3 Lightning Ormus
2x SOJ
War Travs
Trangs Gloves
Tals Ammy
Thundergods

She also has a couple of lightning grand charms, somewhere like 3 or so. This build was in no means expensive (Im talkin about non ladder, not sure how prices differ on ladder, especially on that Ormus robe) and very strong.

Ive used her to PvP every now and then for fun, the only problem is the occasion low range damage (somewhere in the 4-100 range sucks) but when the unlucky character takes a 19-20k lightning bolt directly, they REALLY feel it. When not using Lightning, drag them into a group of monsters, blast out a chain lightning then spam Charged bolt... its very fun.

I recommend light sorcs, theyre fun and easy to make, and people seem to underestimate a light sorc becoz of the damage range, whatever you do... DONT UNDERESTIMATE.

yeah.... light sorcs can be pretty easily negated I used 20k as an average for a 40k attack thats just GA and Tgods

But most people don't use that stuff, if they do get a merc and watch them *****

Hmmm, yes it can, be aware that even with 40k max, you'll still have a 6 min, so even without going all out absorb gear, it'll be on rare occasions you'll actually do damage. But it really doesn't matter, if you're going for public duels just be ready for absorb lamers, I'd recommend any league/community over these fools.

Most of them are to stupid to absorb successfully. I get it all the time, they put on tgods, GA, blackhorns and they still get *****, if they do 160 light res shield it's a little harder, or have ort GA and blackhorn

lol do u guys even play in pubbies? you all assume that your going to meet absorbers that take the time to absorb YOU in public games... but do you think anyone is stupid enough to put on a blackhorns and tgods and some stuff with los in it, giving up all their damage and resists vs other elements, and walk out into a public game where every element is being shot around?

even if they did, for example, put on 435 cold resist or put on a 160 light res shield or put on a rising sun and 2 dwarfs, every other person in the pubbie besides you would kill him easily because he basically sucks vs anything besides the element he's absorbing. in all my time in lod pubbie dueling i dont think i've seen more than ten people total put on absorb and use it successfully in a pubby (except white rings ><)

besides, go in a pubbie or trade channel and ask for blackhorns. u'll be lucky if someone knows what it is, let alone have one, and even if someone had one it'd be so rare that he'd charge u five enigmas for it

now this leads to "legit good mannered" people, like i used to call myself, having a ton of "alternate gear" like 2 ravens 2 dwarfs and 4 pieces of cold resist stuff and 2 wisps etc. but i think that in the 3 months that i played necro i never took the stuff out in a pubbie, and in priv duels i did better without them.

go ahead make your lightning sorc and dont worry about being absorbed. back when i had a 4 lo shield and had 95 lr, my friend's lightning sorc with 7-42k damage did on average 200 to 300 damage. and if someone really bothered to take out 2 wisps, a 4 lo shield, a blackhorn, and a tgod all at once, the other 5 fireball sorcs, necros, barbs, and cold sorcs would own him in like 2 seconds cause he sucks vs everything else. in a priv duel, you wouldnt be worrying about absorb anyway.
