    What did you do about resists? How did you keep them high enough to do hell difficulty? It seems like you need some pretty good resists for this build because you cannot use salvation aura or you will do no damage.

    NOTE: The colors have been disabled on these forums so I will be removing all colors from the final version of this guide. Sadly i can't edit my guide right now =/

    Anyway, If you find you are low on resists, chains of honor and mara's would be good for a nice boost. Plus your gloves, boots and helm will have some form of resists most likely, so if you need to socket some stuff with UM's. Also, get small charms with +all resists on them, they will help as well.

    Also, make sure you have a strong Merc so if you need to switch to salvation, you can do it without having to worry about doing low damage. So, say you run into a pack of Souls, when they attack quickly switch to Resist Lightning, and laugh at them when they do no damage because you have 95 lightning resistances, then quickly switch to Holy Freeze and take them down. The ranger is a bit more challenging to get high resists on because he lacks a shield, so you'll need to be quick on your feet and optimize the uses of all your resistance auras.

    Another plus side to the Ranger is that he can be very party friendly with all his resistance auras.

    PvP Aspect to that,

    Vs Foher, it will never hurt u (hopefully)

    and vs Cold Sorcy (wont hurt much i hope.)

    Vs Light sorcy Same thing

    vs. Traper, same thing, shouldn't hurt alot.

    Resist Light / Resist Cold are awsome.

    Brian thanks for feeding my soul. Once I find the time to go out and buy a D2 exp, i am going to make a PvP stormranger with a widowmaker. Utilize the PvM side and maybe we can help MSA and give him a PvP section.

    Brian I am always open to your PvP aspects... Give us some good ideas bro.

    well, i still go attempt to make this, but so far its on hold.

    i have most of the gear,

    my buddy ivan was testing it, using other stuff, he said that the damage wasn't enough to be effective either with cold or light.

    it took too many shots of the bow to hit properly thus making the pala a open target to get hit.

    if its gonna be pvp worty, maybe we need a different route.

    i still think holyfreeze is a good idea, maybe build around holyfreeze aura, get items with + cold damage or - cold resist.

    Nightwings might be neat. But then u loose +2 all skills or whatever, which is more damage? i dont know off hand.

    SO>>> instead of using dual auras, maybe make some sorta hybrid, Zeal / Bow pala, like a frost zealot who has a bow, etc...

    or a tesla zealot who has a bow.....

    get the picture?

    man this is such a cool idea too, i just wish there was something to make the cold or light damage something like 15k or so.. not 6k :uhhuh:

    maybe offensive gc arn't the answer.... maybe going back to the straight up HIBERNAL OF VITA sc IS the answer? Sombody let me know how much damage a ONE offensive aura gc adds to holyfreeze or shock. Then tell me a hibernal sc. compare, Who knows maybe 3 x sc is more damage then a offensive gc, Thus producing more damage and life. This might just make the whole build viable as a pure frost ranger. or a Pure tesla ranger. Heck, y not a fire ranger too....

    if it was a pure cold ranger, you would do something like this..

    20 Holyfreeze
    20 resist cold.
    20 salvation.

    this leaves approx 40 or so points leftover.

    now i dont think that a melee skill is best here, maybe something like .....OH i know FOH :scratch:

    20 Foh
    xx conviction
    20 holyshock,

    do salvation last..

    wait a sec, nvm foh is weak without combats and + skills gear...hmm...

    hammer is out of the question, u need too much and its out of the way.

    if there was only some way to use two of those offensive auras at the same time, shock / freeze combo would be brutal....

    well thats a bit of a tangent there, sorry, ...any ideas on how to make this more effective..

    More damage mainly, or other ideas with the build.....Secondary skills.. etc..

    Lets find an answer

    Holy freeze ranger / smite

    the extra 40 goes to HS and smite - then you have say a reedemer and a eth upped hoz on switch?

    yea thats an idea, BUT....

    what i want to do is get massive elemental damage out of a bow thats not on a zon..

    maybe a enchant sorcy..

    or a venom assassin...

    blah i dont know..

    leveling up takes too much time so i never get to test any of this.

    all my ideas are garbage i guess.

    im getting well known of the person who has crazy ideas now. but i can't ever back any of em up to be viable cuz i never have the resources or right information to make em...

    o well..

    Not to speak out of turn, but I'm working one of my HCL mules up in this build, and I've been wondering the same thing. One very viable option, which those running bladesins have been using, is to get the 'Demon Limb' on switch for extra 'self-enchant' damage.

    Sadly, I don't think you'll find something with spell charges that would work to poison the bow. Assn's can't cast venom on someone else, and poison dagger won't work that I know of (cool if it would tho... but then it would be great if Vengeance worked on arrows :buddies: )

    Actually, arachnid mesh belt has venom in it, only lvl 3 but it's there as charges.
