I've heard of people dying while surfing. I have not heard of people dying skateboarding.
Surfing
When you fall, the surface you land on keeps throwing you around like a ragdoll.
Skateboarding
You hit a hard surface and that would hurt like hell. But after that you can get up(or be carried) and go get patched up.
In surfing you could die a lot more easier. In skating you injury yourself more. I always see my friend with some bruises whenever he's done some hard skateboarding, it's hard to avoid injury when performing new tricks.
Nice avatar ***.
I don't know much about either sport, but I voted skateboarding. It seems like a very good surfer is a lot less likely to get injured than a very good skateboarder, but the surfer's injuries would be more severe. It sort of balances out.
(I sort of made that up).
drowning is an uncool way to die. while some things are obviously worse, like being burned alive, drowning is no cakewalk. id rather have my skateboard slip from my feet and end up under a bus than drown.Originally Posted by Ringworm125

Surfing, cause you could..drown, get carried away by a undercurrent, become sharkfodder, get plowed by a motorboat.
I injure myself skating a lot, but its usually never anything major.. cause you can tell when your about to fall. Cover your vitals with your arms and whatnot, roll...
Then again, it could be said that I'm not trying hard enough.
