WWS worth upgrading?

I finally got hold of the PUL that I needed and can now upgrade one weapon. I'm stuck between the WWS and my GSA. Any recommendations? Or should I hold off until I pick up some other stuff first since I also play other characters like Hammerdin, FO/Meteor wizard and a WW barb.

BTW, I think the odds of me EVER getting a WF are remote at best :bow:

WWS better than GSA, because WWS is more versatile, you can even beat the PI with it. You save a slot for alma's ammy, need much less res all, and a lot of skill points in critical strike too.

Absolutely yes, upgrade the WWS. IMO it benefits more from an upgrade than any of the other exceptional unique bows. If you were on USWest I'd let you take my upped WWS for a test drive, but since you aren't, see if any of your friends will lend you one. A Pul is a big investment if it's the only one you have. It's worth it, though!

I switch between my WF/Highlords (9/2 strafe, 9 frame normal attack) and WWS/Atma's setup (9/2 strafe, 8 frame normal attack) so frequently that I can't decide which one is my primary. WWS is definitely the more fun bow of the two, and also more flexible, as it requires less support to reach 9/2 strafe (essential to me), can Amp without an Atma's (though I still recommend wearing one because it more than triples your chance to cast), makes maxed resistances possible (which is very hard to do with a 9/2 speed WF), and has a wonderful built-in PI killer in its lvl 20 Magic Arrow (which, by the way, has a hidden 181% boost to AR that doesn't show up on the character screen). Not to mention the high % DS, which alleviates the need for points in CS if you plan a witchyzon from the start like I did. I wouldn't worry too much about never finding a WF.

Could you (or anyone) post a screenie of the upgraded wws? I was going to upgrade mine but Im curious as to what the new req's are. Lvl, dex and str.

Check out arreat summit for the stats of diamond bow (elite). The upgraded WWs will have those str/dex requirements as well as a level req of 7 above the base level req of the elite item (diamond bow).

IMO, it depends what you're going for. The skill pts from Lycanders are nice but the dmg isnt that great. It would be useful if you were making a strictly elemental zon (such as FA and IA) because the more skills=more dmg but the mods on WWS - magic arrow, ctc amp dmg, DS% based on char lvl - all up the physical dmg of your char. I like the upgraded WWS over Lycanders. :yep:

I think WWS is nice. The gore riders can be replaced by wartravs, making the damage difference with other bows not as big. And also cat's eye instead of highlords

Any suggestions as to what to put in the two sockets of the WWS for a strafer? (yay! i got one, finally!)

my current gear:
helm: Stealskull w/ ptopaz (10% ias)
ammy: highlords (20% ias)
armour: 15% ias jewelled
gloves: crafted hit gloves (i need the knockback .... will keep rerolling until 20% ias)
belt: goldwrap (10% ias)
rings: cheesy 20/22% mf rings
boots: cow boots

now ... to upgrade it ... :\
