Hey, I have been having a problem with my video card and I was wandering if anyone could help me with it.
Whenever I try to open a game it gives me an error.
The first error is that it says I need 32 mb to play the game, andit's tells me that my computer has 0, when I know thats not the case. The computer IS recognizing that I have a video card.
The second is the computer saying it cant initialize DirectX.
Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.
Just a quick Edit, the first error happens with Planetside, the second with Diablo. I don't get an error however when I try to play Team Fortress Classic(a Half Life mod).
Have you tried reinstalling DirectX?
Sounds like an excuse to buy a brand-spanking new, top of the line video card.
Heh, I don't have the funds to spare.
And yes, I just tried re-installing DirectX, and it didn't help.
What video card do you have? OS? Directx version?Originally Posted by Disque

Ok, so I've now found out that Dirext X will not install on my computer. It will go through the whole process and look like it's installing lots of files and such, but when I go to check the folder, it's empty.
And I ran a video test on Diablo and it's not finding any video modes.
I suggest installing the latest drivers for your card.
If that doesn't work, I suggest you use this to put fear into the card. Usually just brandishing it will make the computer work properly.
