    Playing without the CD

Is there any kind of crack that you can play without the cd? All i have is my 1 cd player and I want to play music while playing. Well period, I just have a weird fetish about having a cd in the drive while playing games. I hate it. I know they have to have a way. Can someone help me out? This isn't about any illegal stuff. I own the game, its just stupid to HAVE to have the cd in. I tried making an ISO with WinISO but that didn't work. If noone replies. I guess Im gonna have to go try Alcohol 120%.

    Can someone please help?

I've looked before for some way to play without the cd, but I never found one. Alcohol 120% might work, I don't use it so it never accured to me.

Yes you can play the game without the cd in the drive and no crack is even needed. Just load up the game then eject the game after it's loaded up. If you want the sounds to still play in game just copy the D2MUSIC file from your cd to the d2 folder.

Yes, mounting the image with Alcohol or Daemon tools will work. And there are cracks for every game, you just have to know where to look.

you can try using d2loader, and then copy some files into the folder (itll explain how to once youve downloaded the program). if you try this, make sure to get a trojan/hack-free one.

I created a 1:1 image of my CD with Isobuster and mounted it (as a virtual CD) with Daemon Tools.

When creating the image, you'll get a message asking how to handle the unreadable sectors of the CD. Just be sure to mark them as damaged (instead of filling them with blanks).

Perfectly legal (as long as you use your own original CD), no crack needed.

I'm kind of assuming you're using a recent version of Windows here, but couldn't you just copy the music onto your computer with Windows Media Player, then run it off of the hard drive?

Of course, if you're using a Mac or don't have a recent enough version of Media Player to do that, you can't (at least not the way I just said)

Yeah i understand you can do that. But its not just music cd's. I just hate the fact that I have to keep that CD in there and constantly take it out while puttin other cd's in. Buts thanx anyway. I figured it out and Im now using Alochol to get it working. I appreciate everyones help though!
