Former US Attorney General Ramsey Clark has been wanting to impeach that little squinty-eyed worm for sometime now.Originally Posted by jimmyboy

Ever wonder what some Texan's think about our Commander-in-Chief?
While suturing a laceration on the hand of a 70-year-old Texas rancher (whose hand had caught in a gate while working cattle), a doctor and the old man were talking about George W. Bush being in the White House.
The old Texan said, "Well, ya know, Bush is a 'post turtle'."
Not knowing what the old man meant, the doctor asked him what a post turtle was.
The old man said, "When you're driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a post turtle."
The old man saw a puzzled look on the doctor's face, so he continued to explain, "You know he didn't get there by himself, he doesn't belong there, he doesn't know what to do while he's up there, and you just want to help the poor stupid guy get down."
Clark is just trying to sell books......

In reality, Bush actually being impeached has about a "snowball's chance in hell" considering that the congress is controlled by Republicans anyway.Originally Posted by tydon
On the thread topic, I would have to agree that, at best, Bush is only distantly and indirectly responsible for the recent Iraqi prison problems.
Bush's responsibility lies in the fact that this war was perpetrated by his decision ... his call ... his choice. Regardless of Saddam being an evil despot, he did not attack us. We attacked Iraq. We started this war without any real provocation or (as it seems) justification. Barring that decision, the soldiers in question would not have been in that position and the prisoners would not have been abused.
Rumsfeld, on the other hand, apparently was aware of the prison investigations, allegations, and pictures in January 2004 but seemingly did nothing substantial about the situation. Bush has apparently already dressed him down. Many senators have alluded that Rumsfeld did not bring up these prison problems at several earlier congressional meetings on Iraq. They seemed just a "wee" bit upset.
I have heard that Rumsfeld is to testify at a congressional hearing this coming Friday. It may be electric with Rumy having to deal with pointed questions from both irate Republicans and Democrats. He will certainly be on the "hot seat".
If this scandal gets any worse, I wouldn't be surprised if Rumy gets the ax.

PS: Thanks Undy ... glad you enjoyed that little jab![]()
Bush would rather have you killed, than admit that he beats on pows.
A few more photos have been released.
You can find them here along with a story:

This affair is just getting uglier and uglier.
The really sad thing is that allegations of prisoner mistreatment have been flying around ever since we started sending people to Guantanamo. We've had additional allegations from Afghanistan and Iraq for a long time now.Originally Posted by llad12
Why is it that America only now gets it that prisoner abuse is wrong? Instead of pushing the government to treat prisoners right all along, the conservatives of this country spent all their time arguing:
- It's OK to abuse prisoners in any way we like, and you're anti-American for suggesting otherwise.
- Since Bush refused to allow outside third parties to review prison conditions, there is no way to verify that abuses are taking place, therefore abuse is not taking place.
- Americans would never do that, and all these allegations are just liberal lies that are part of the Great Liberal Plot to make people feel bad.
- The allegations are false because Amnesty International has a political agenda to stop human rights abuses.
- National security! National security!
- Do you want the terrorists to win?
- It's Clinton's fault!
I would love to see just one conservative admit that he/she was wrong to pooh-pooh all the allegations of prisoner abuse that have been piling up prior to the release of all those photographs. Just one. Not that that will happen.
There are also, allegedly, some staged photos of GIs gang ***ing "Iraqi" women floating around that originally came from a couple of ultra hardcore porn sites. Some Middle Eastern news sources are pushing these as "even more" evidence, which they're not, but they sure as hell don't help.Originally Posted by llad12
