    This Meteorb Sorc Viable?

    Well, once again playing this game because the 1.10 patch came out, and I must say they did a pretty good job adding new elements to the game. I was always a fan of the nova/orb sorc that dominated in hell cows in 1.09, but Meteorb seems to be the way to go in 1.1 (at least that's what everyone says) Anyways, heres some info (ruffly) about my new sorc.

    Right now she's lvl 48

    vita 175

    Skills

    19 Orb
    5 CM
    10 FB
    2 Meteor
    2 FM

    You don't even want to know my current equip, but here's what I HOPE i'll get (someday?)

    Weapon: Occy
    Shield: Lidless
    Helm: Shako
    Armor: Vipermagi
    Ammy: +2 to sorc skills
    Rings: soj x2
    Gloves: Frosties/Magefist
    Boots: Merman's Sprocket
    Belt: Gloomstrap/Arachnid

    I know the idea behind the meteorb sorc is to get enough strength for ss, then get max block by pumping dex, but I'M POOR AS HELL. I've never even come across a ss, and I don't think I will anytime soon, so I decided to take all the points that would have been put into getting enough dex for max block, and the 156 str for ss and put them into vita. This may sound like a bad idea, but i'll really only need 60 str for my desired equipment, which allows me to put massive points into vita.

    After completing FO I plan on maxing Meteor, Fireball, and FM next (in that order), and then pumping vita as much as possible. I was hoping the mass vita would let her take a few hits before getting killed. Is this a good build or will she just get smacked in hell?

    BTW, would 1 point into ES or a cold armor be worth it, or a waste?

    I'll just answer the last part since I dont know much about the 1st. I'd say find an orb with frozen armor/ES on it; so you dont have to spend the extra points - thats what I do, keep it as my switch or even in stash and pull out for a run.

    Go for mosers as a shield with good block. Throw a Eld rune and a Pdiamond in it. This will be the weapon you have on your wizardspike switch. Then your occy switch can use A Rhyme heater. Maintain max block wiht the heater at 62% block. If you can get your hands on tals belt, this will give you 20 dex to help out.

    As for str, I would aim for tals amour myself.

    Forget ES. Go for Shiver armour.

    Just to save you some time looking for these. These boots do not exist at least in 1.10 realms. They were on the original spoiler list, but were removed for quite obvious reasons which should be quite clear if one analyzes the mods on these boots.

    I think your missing the point. I'm TRYING NOT to put points into str and dex, and conserve them for vitality. The lower I shoot the better, because it means more vita...but is this a good idea or no? I mean it takes 146 points in strength to wear SS, and more than 200 dex to have max block at higher levels. Will the extra 300 or so points in vitality save me, or is it a "must have" for max block and dr?

    visc and dex

    My meteorb's level 91 now and kicks butt in hell. I have lidless, used to have 2 pdiamond mosers but now always use a pdiamond visceratuant for +1 skill and great block. Use full Tals -- armor and ammy are hard to improve on.

    I keep block maxed -- it saves you an insane amount of damage/hits from those swarming act 3 beasties and stygian worms in act 4. Your dex sounds way too low.

    I maxed FM before FB, seemed like more meteor damage faster.

    I agree with the metorb guide that e-shield is a waste for this build, but shiver armor rocks.

    BTW I never bought anything -- all found or traded. MF for runes to trade for Tals.
