    Rogue for skelliemancer

    Ewwo!

I once again dusted off my D2 cd to play some more (no other game do i keep coming back to as much as d2 )... and again my chars are all expired *pout* but oh well, I'll survive.

Has anyone ever used a rogue merc for their skelliemancer? I'm kind of tired of the act 2 might merc since I've been using him almost exclusively on all my past characters (including my 1.09 necro of course!) In a game with more people I doubt I would notice my merc missing, with someone else probably using a might merc... and if I solo.. well.. I think the skellies will be fine, if maybe a bit slow. The only thing I would -really- miss is the amazing power of the merc itself... will the rogue be able to come anywhere near the amount of damage an act2 merc dishes out, or does that mean I'll be needing an expensive bow and stuff like that (which will be hard, considering im down to 0 equipment again)

Ah.. Anyway. I'm lvl 8 now. I guess I will just play the next 30 levels trying to have the rogue tag along and see how I like her.

Yes I know the might merc is better, he is the main reason necros already kicked *** in 1.09 too :P I'm just hoping the rogue will be viable... or something.

HoS has had success with a Fire Rogue IIRC. Let us know how it goes.

I'm in the process of making a new bow using/summoner of sorts...and will be using a fire rouge as my merc. My game ending bow will be a Widow maker..and her's with end up a botd crusader.

    Will keep you informed.

Rogue is ok but she's not gonna help u much in pvm. Skellimancer w/o might merc is like bread without butter... sure u can have jelly and peanut butter but butter is still best.

Well the rogue is extremely annoying to level up anyway :/
    She's level 14 now, I think i'm 19.

It seems to be ok. The rogue is actually somewhat useful because of her ranged attack. I won't be getting BS myself because the synergies won't really make it worth it... besides.. I like only having to worry about curses.

I refuse to give in to the temptation of the might merc, but the road to hell will be a long one -.-

I do single player, so i have acess to more good bows, but i love rogue mercs on chars that can tank or have tanks already (skellies and glay golem).

Those freakin oblivion knights with Iron Maiden...no stinking problem, cause i have a merc that doesn't deal melee damage.

the worst part of the rogue is getting her in sight of baal...she usually sits there shooting the stupid tentacles.

Don't forget the use of InnerSight, it works on monsters you've already cursed.....Decrepify + Inner Sight is very nice.

Just take away the weapon from your Act II Merc as long as you are in the CS. He can't kill himself on IM that way.

    (Thanks Beat.)

    Ooh nice tip

I just cleared the Chaos Sanc btw.. (normal) and I must say I did enjoy the rogue not dying there She's also good at the spots where I would normally fare less well with the might merc - like arcane and such. Just hope I can find a decent bow before things get rough :s
