It seems like ervyone has some different version of something, so I'm glad you all got em. This was my version, and worked good for me thats why its down there. I havent mathematically proven anything like in some guides, but that setup worked sweet for me and covered all my bases. Anyoen reading the guide feel free to fool around with the skills, and try superhals or endtheorys idea, I'm sure they'd all be good.
I don't think I agree with putting all extra stat points in life. I only have around 2500 life after BO and I rarely die from anything except IM if I forget to switch to Berserk. I still have about 100 unused stat points at level 88 and I think I'll just dump them all in strength for extra killing power. Is there a reason to have that much more life? I don't think IK barbs are worthy for PvP so that can't be it can it?
Is a very nice guide imo and as i suggested - i`d prefer a focused one instead of endless discutions aboult skill/stat/gear for variety.Originally Posted by puckalicious

Finnaly: "why more life"...my guess is: "just to be sure" as the guide could be named imho "IK guide - barbs for everyone".
regarding life, everybody has the same problem: iron maiden. extra life, as far as i know, hasn't helped anyone.
i seem to die the same amount as other barbs with 1700 life after bo with base vit.
there's not much variation between ik barbs. base vit and base str seem about the same.

Can you switch mercenaries between characters? :o

Doh forgot to edit that. Ya at teh time my merc couldnt use all the gear I ahd for him. The point of that section is just to suggest Merc gear. Most people will use Tals mask for the LL some sort of unique polearm like bonehew, ariocs, or reapers toll and something like duriels shell, or shaftstop. I find it doesnt matter so much what armor your merc has, just so long as he has a bunch of LL. I'm a little sketchy on merc setups though. I usually just use whatever I have lying around on mules.
Ok, I use Ariochs and Tal Rasha's helm, along with a normal defense 980 Russet Armor. Works fine for me, although he dies when there are many ranged attackers nearby.Originally Posted by Cold493
Good guide. I'm nonladder east and I tried building this character and was assuming that it had huge potential to stink. But much to my surprise when I decked him out not only was he truly immortal (except for that double minion group of those exploding guys in WorldStoneKeep I came across which I must say I was more than proud to die to; quite formiddable) and not only that but he does great damage. However, while some might not like it, I was also using 2x40/15ias and 3x40/15max and a buttload of 3/20/20s (which solves the AR conundrum and gave me about 5.5k life). But he was freaking powerful and I found myself only needing one of Anya's quests to max my resists. I was previosly considering using his 3 armor sockets as Bers making him 44% damage reduced, but he's sturdy enough as it is. And whoever thought the Demon Limb enchant thing up was genious. and they stack up nicely so that's kewl
Love this set, except i still need to find the armour... :(
