Smiter against WW barb: help needed

I have a V/T with max smite/fana/holy shield. My equipment:

    1) Silence Phase Blade
    2) Shako
    3) Verdungo 40/14
    4) Upp'd HoZ 193 ed
    5) Gore Riders 18x ed
    6) Wedding Band x 1
    7) Ravenfrost x 1
    8) Mara's
    9) bloodfist or dracul's

Now I have this irrating barb that likes to challenge me. He equipment is not fantastic... i cant really remember but should be something like this:

    1) Azureworth
    2) GF or SS (cant remember)
    3) Angelic set
    4) Verdugos
    5) Kraken
    6) upp'd shadow dancer

He enchants before the dual although i said it was BM... he answered by saying I can use anything i like. Unfortunately enchant dont do zip for me. Even with Dracul's.

My FoH dmg is too low.. around 1200 to do much dmg. With holy shield I get around 12k defense. I stand a better chance when my friend's barb BO me. But normally I keep getting my *** kicked.

Pravda in his guide mention something about using a eth stone to increase holy shield defense and use defiance as aura then smite him? Havent try this yet...

If I transfer my archon enigma and call to arms from my nec maybe i would stand a better chance but I dont want to result to that.

Any other suggestions? Just bugs the hell outta me that I cant even beat a mediaocre WW barb.

Hrm, well the easiest way to gain advantage is to toggle to walk so your block doesnt go down.

Your defense sounds pretty good so that should prevent him from hitting you alot. Use shift+smite+ fana or defiance (watever works best) and hit him while he ww's through you. Stand your ground and dont try to follow on his ww walking/running behind him.

If you wanna go more defensive try to charge around him alot, shift charge vigor all around him and throw foh's at him every so often. Then right when his ww ends, try to nail him with a charge and hope you hit and knock him back. If this happens then you could try to go and smite him.

If at any time he tries to zerk you, i suggest you go toe to toe and smite him since you'll most likely hit him more than he'll hit you. When he resumes his ww's then go a screen away or so and begin the strategy in the previous paragraph.

    Hope that helps.

12k def is low. Try to get it higher
    Always have walk on
Use a weapon with crushing and open wounds (helps a lot)
    Shift-smite
Don't follow the barb as he wws through you. That will get you killed
If he wws in a triangular pattern you might have to move around a little
Use Foh and conviction when you're not smiting

So I can't stand toe to toe to his WW?

    Very well put Manuel...

If you can even though your foh damage is low try to take "pot shots" at the barb.

No no, you do stand a chance ww vs your smite, but you can very easily slip up and lose massive life.

Most of the time i do shift smite versus barb's ww. I only have about 13k def and that works ok for me. If you feel better by having for def go ahead, but i think that its just the strategy of walking and knowing when to move.

By all means try to use smite at all times whenver he gets near you. Only go with foh conv if he tries to regen life or if he's letting psn do you damage. Even if it's a little foh damage, it can make a difference at the end.
