here is a little game my math teach played with us back in 7th grade.
the object is to continue on with the counting numbers, using only 4 4's.
ie. ill start off with the first 2
1. (4/4)/(4/4) = 1
2. (4/4) +4/4) = 2
now note. it gets difficult here.
so you MAY use anything. be it a factorial or root.
sr=square root
! = factorial
so (sr4)/4) = 1/2
and 4! = 24
and 4!/(sr4) = 12
![]()
so go on, and lets get to 100.
(4+4+4)/4=3
10 character limit is bad.
4! / 4 - (4/4) = 5
*new answer coming soon*
edit: Oh yea.....misread the rules
How about this:
4!/4=6 (or do you have to use all 4 4's?)
you can only use four 4's
[(4 x 4) / sr 4] - sr4 = 6
opps sorry for double post btw, was working it out in the little box
and toader yeah you have to use all 4 4's
4 + sr 4 + (4/4) = 7
4 + 4 + 4 - 4 = 8
4! / 4 + 4 - sr4 = 9
4 * 4 - 4 - sr4 = 10
GAH
(4!+4)/4+4 = 11
4 + 4 + sr4 + sr4 = 12
