Does this trick still work with the new patch?

Sure, there is no change in game mechanics in this patch. All the moat trick does is use obstacles as a way to keep Mephisto far away from your sorceress, but so that she can still hurt him with skills.

About the missing images. Those are not available anymore at the given address. I am playing D2 again now and might com up with some screenshots. Will replace those then.

Last night while doing some MFing at Mephisto I made this short movie on how I use the moat trick.

Due to the pictures being unavailible I can't compare this method with the one in the guide but I will post it anyway.

Its just under a minute long. THe moat trick really does help no end for players whos merc can't tank mephisto or they themselves can't tank him.

I don't want to steal the original posters thunder as the guid is detailed and well written even without the pictures. This is just how I do it. If it turns out to be exactly the same the thats great too.

Excellent video! You will almost certainly have to reupload though as Vimeo don't tolerate gaming vids. Maybe wegame or similar.

You actually don't even need to corner Meph like that. Just stay far enough from him while on the other side of the moat at any point that he doesn't attack and you've done your job.

This is, of course, assuming you use AoE spells like meteor, orb, blizz, fire wall, etc. If using smaller spells like fireball or lightning, then properly trapping Meph is the way to go.
