That does still sound seriously messed up. I'm not sure what he tried to accomplish by saying that - and it is NEVER ok to threaten anybody. Especially not getting physical. I hope you'll work it out. Is he a good friend?

Nope - just a housemate, and not by my choice. He's friends with the owner through the church they go to, and needed a place when the last housemate left. But I've lived hear much longer, without a problem with the previous guy, so we'll see. Simply, he stays, I'm going. No way in hell I'd stay with that ****. I don't want to have to watch my back and check outside doors just to get ready for work. If he gets asked to leave, I'll be happy.

As I said, logic says that he wasn't trying to get any dispute/issue resolved or even an apology. If so, he would've pointed them out, at a reasonable hour, and we'd have a house meeting. Done, done and done. The way this was done was a direct attempt at intimidation. And creepy as hell. The noise of the thing breaking was quite loud, even if I didn't hear it. I was stunned though - I was expecting a bit of shoulder jostling - push, push on the way out, out of frustration, but what I got was a hand to the throat and a decent push backwards... A direct attack and force to keep me from leaving.

On the plus side, I got to work late (I got to drive to the site, which is much closer,) and got home at 2:30 instead of 4:30 (we finish at 3:30.) Neither of the other two are home to my knowledge yet, so I might grab a book.

Seems rather obvious who should be the one to leave. But of course it can also be hard for the house owner to take action when he doesn't have anything but your words.

Please let us know how it turns out.

I just ordered the entire Hitchhiker series from amazon. 12 EUR for all 5 books. Awesome.

Re: Etdlahq Memorial Bar - your shelter from forum crashes

I'll be looking to move out sometime in the near future I reckon. As expected, he put most of the blame on me, and claimed that he never tried to prevent me from leaving the bathroom. His excuse was that at 5:30 in the morning, he was doing some heavy weights, and therefore was extremely tense, so when I 'charged' at him, he reacted by grabbing me by the throat and throwing me back. He completely ignored the fact that despite numerous attempts at explaining, reasoning, saying that I had to get ready for work, and apology for the comment that was severely misinterpretted, and a request to leave the bathroom, he didn't move, and stood directly in the middle of the doorway.

    Absolute bull****, but predictable.

    Sounds like a model-citizen-in-the-making.

Get out of there. Sane people do not have the stamina and the overwhelming desire to win that loons seem to have.

Re: Etdlahq Memorial Bar - your shelter from forum crashes

First comes intimidation and then potentially worse. The fact that he's getting away with what did happen means he'll try something again. His reasoning could be all kinds of things, such as needing a target or simply just wanting to get rid of you. Who can say. However, everyone (and yourself) agree that you should go, because holding your ground just to stay at a house isn't worth the risks.
Good luck finding a new and better place!

I've never been a party guy either, so I'm either hanging out with friends or reading or on my computer. I don't do much else aside from that.

If he was concerned for your mental health the last thing he would do is attack you -_-
