Supposed to be unpaid, anyway. Four years at Duke tuition-free comes out to around $200,000 - $225,000. 50 grand a year isn't bad for an "unpaid" player.players don't get paid

Yea...I know...
Plus they do good and can get paid after college.
Depends on the place you're talking about. Up here in Ohio the entire state (except the people of Toledo) follows the Buckeyes. Indiana is enjoying the revival of Indiana Basketball, and Kentucky fans always think they'll win the championship this year. College Basketball is much more exciting as Kestegs said because of the single elimination tournament format and the Cinderellas (lower seeds that beat higher seeds) that appear every year. Last year, VCU and Butler made the Final Four. Butler played in the title game and lost to UConn. A lot of people became Butler fans for that one game. I guess in my memory of the three states I've ever stayed in (Kentucky, Missouri and Ohio), the only people who didn't seem to like college sports were Missourians. Kentucky was fanatical about either Louisville or UK (mainly UK when I stayed there for six months)
College Athletes are now about to get stipends from the NCAA, this will end well.
Why are they getting that? How stupid!
Yes, the underdog thing is always fun.
So that they do not except money from other sources?
Sports talk and geography......
I do so ... wait wah?
You should give it a chance, having played the beta it is pretty good.
Except that they don't really have anything to show for it at the end, unless they get drafted into the professionals. I guess some of them will move overseas to play in the local leagues there.
You can't get paid any money or even get money for endorsements, they are very strict about it and good players gave gotten banned because of it.
Don't forget the schools get scholarship restrictions for them accepting money too.
