Stupid, crappy, pointless, worthless, expletitive excuse for a modem. It's time to buy a new one. Anyone able to recommend a brand? I've only really used one brand, and I believe they've all caused problems.

which brand have you used? I hear billion is good, but I am having difficulty with mine :s

I'm actually curious if someone recommends the brand I've always had trouble with, or lists it as one they've had trouble with, so that's why I haven't mentioned it yet. I'll let you know the brand tomorrow after work.
It's quite temporamental. It'll work perfectly fine for a long period, then it'll just keep crashing (hard reset on the router fixes it temporarily, but it may work for 2 minutes, it may work for an hour. The 'power' button on it doesn't work [either broken/loss connection, or the whole thing including power settings has crashed,] so it has to be a "remove power cable and reinsert.) I was having a good streak with it a short while ago, but it's decided to be a pain again, and constantly mess up.

I might try to get the password and update the settings/firmware first though.

As I go to post this, I look down at my "wireless" light, and what a shock! I don't have internet. That time, it lasted a whole 5 minutes - and the modem was completely off: no lights on at all.?.

Edit: Thanks Solar. I ended up using gimp, but I'll try Irfanview a go next time. Gimp takes a while to load.

I did try paint, but it wouldn't let me resize properly. I was trying to resize portraits for BG: Shadow of Amn (as well as forum avatars,) and Paint doesn't let you resize while keeping the ratio very easily. Was just looking for something a little more accurate, where I could just enter the dimensions and it'd do it for me.
