Normal is the only difficult level I play now. First of all, I'm really grateful that there's a faithful Diablo community! I can't believe I'm still having fun playing a game that I was introduced to 10 years ago, and all the hype about D3 has renewed my interest.

I abandoned D2 for WoW. After a few years WoW has become World of Borecraft, the majority of the WoW community is **** IMO, and now I'm pulling my hair out waiting for D3.

I've only ever played a WW Barb, single-player, never hit level 99 and have only beaten easy mode. I've been terminally casual, I guess. Picking the game up and putting it down now and then over the years. My computer couldn't even run LoD when it came out (32mb RAM woohoo) so I went on sort of a hiatus. I really want to get into some online play now with MF Sorc and eventually a MF Barb to build a Paladin or Necro, because even for it's age this game feels so much more fulfilling than WoW.

Playing on a generated key atm because my little brother lost the sleeve of my latest copy when I let him borrow it, but the next copy I get will be my 4th purchase of the game :crazyeyes: so I don't feel guilty. So no online play til I sell my WoW account, but I'm looking forward to playing on US East but I guess there's a big population drop since a new patch has been announced. Same Bliz, I guess. 1. It's clear that an Act II mercenary who uses an item that adds "+x to all skills" has his personal aura level increased (Level 18 Defiance + Shako = Level 20 Defiance, etc.). Does this bonus also work with auras granted to the mercenary via polearms (Insight's Meditation, Infinity's Conviction, etc.)?

2. Two questions concerning the aforementioned Conviction aura:
a) Is it true that Conviction only reduces Fire/Lightning/Cold resistances, but not Poison/Physical resistances and Physical/Poison Immune monsters remain unaffected?
b) Can the Assassin's Cloak of Shadows skill and the Conviction aura stack to reduce an enemy's defense to zero?

3. Two questions concerning Dragon Talon:
a) The Enchant skill increases Talon's Attack Rating and should also add elemental damage to the weapon, which should carry over to Dragon Talon, but it doesn't appear on the character screen. Am I right when I say that elemental damage isn't displayed at all on the Talon's damage calculation? I know Venom's damage isn't, so other types of extra elemental damage also remain hidden?
b) Dragon Talon doesn't care about enhanced damage from weapons, but uses enhanced damage from other pieces of equipment (like body armor), right?

4. Some long-winded math here, but I hope you see what it is that confuses me. To the point, then: the only calculation I found on this site that explains run speed seems strange. It might just be my abysmal math skills, but I can't make heads or tails of this logic. Anyhow, the equation on this site:

FinalRunSpeed = BaseRunSpeed+BaseWalkSpeed *(skillFRW/100 +[itemsFRW*150/(itemFRW+150)]/100 + armourRed/100)

Walking 4 yards/s
Running 6 yards/s

For the sake of simplicity, let's say you wear no Heavy/Medium body armor/shield and have no active FRW skills. Hence:

FinalRunSpeed = BaseRunSpeed+BaseWalkSpeed *([itemsFRW*150/(itemFRW+150)]/100)

You are wearing 30% FRW boots. BRS and BWS are 6 and 4 respectively. So:

FinalRunSpeed = 6+4 *([30*150/(30+150)]/100)
FinalRunSpeed = 10 *([4500/180]/100)
FinalRunSpeed = 10 *(0.25)
FinalRunSpeed = 2.5 (yards/s)

With Level 12 Burst of Speed added (+55% FRW) the formula looks like this:

FinalRunSpeed = 10 *(55/100 + 0.25)
FinalRunSpeed = 10 *(0.8)
FinalRunSpeed = 8 (yards/s)

Now, the same values with the walking speed.

FinalWalkSpeed = BaseWalkSpeed *(1 + skillFRW/100 + [itemFRW*150/(itemFRW + 150)]/100 + armourRed/100)

These final figures make no sense. How can 30% FRW run speed be SLOWER than regular walking speed? If the running equation would use an identical formula inside the brackets as the walking equation, then the figures would be:

FinalRunSpeed = (30% FRW, no BoS) 12.5 (yards/s)
FinalRunSpeed = (30% FRW, with +55% BoS) 18 (yards/s)

These would make sense when compared to the results from the walking equation, but are these realistic figures? Could someone smarter please elaborate?

I have a problem playing diablo 2 with a friend, lod, ver. 1.10. It's like i can get a connection to his computer and we even can play together for awhile. Like 15-30 minutes. But after that my computer makes a bling sound and my game freezes. Little after that it throws me out from the game with no error report or anything that would tell me the problem. If my friend hosts then he can still play it further. But if me then he is out too.
We get connection to each other using regular cable, one side to my computer and other to his. And of course through tcp/ip.
We have played different games also and that kind of problem has not happend earlier. Is it possible that my video driver fails, and therefore throws me out automatically, or is the problem elsewhere. Does anyone know please:)
