View Full Version : Severe Performance Issues

Lately I've noticed quite a bit of annoying performance issues with my game client, things that I usually attributed to lag: stuttering frames, repeating audio, very very slow animations and quite severe lag when the screen fills up with havoc (WD summons, Wiz magic, DH arrows).

I heard that it was possible for certain Diablo III files to be corrupted, and that it's possible to replace these files without having to completely re-install the game.

Might anyone know what specific files could be removed?

Also I've tried reverting all settings to default, lowering the FPS rates and such...and it doesn't seem to help.

If there's any way to fix this without having to uninstall and re-download the files (as I have DSL Lite, and it quite literally takes me 8+ hours to download all the files ;[), that would be fantastic.

Sometimes the game is literally unplayable as I can't even TP because it takes so long and I get disconnected in the process of waiting ;[

I don't believe it's my computer, as I've just recently had this problem. I do have lower-end Internet and it's not very fast, but it's never been this bad. Also my computer isn't super awesome, but it's not super bad either--as I said at the start of D3 it was fine.

I'm pretty sure some file or another is corrupted, or something, but I have no idea of knowing which one to delete and restore with the update launcher.

Thanks for your help!

Go into your d3prefs text file and find the line "hardware class = X." Change that number to 1 and see if that helps. (If it's already at 1, then not sure what to tell you.)

I have had some lag lately too. Mostly yesterday before the giant lag spike hit. So it's not just you, I don't think.
