So let's take this item for example:

http://diablo.incgamers.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/1027dps1.png

So I know the DPS is an average of the min*ApS and the max*ApS. And also, the poison dmg is not accounted in the Damage (and DPS).

However, let's say in this case, is the attack per second of 1.62 taking into account the IAS of 16%? Or is the real attack per second on this item 1.62 + 16% ?

Also, let's say an item has + 10-20 damage as a affix/suffix, is this amount reflected in the DPS or is it added appart like the poison dmg?

Thanks for clearing that up!

The DPS display do take into account IAS% and any added damage, even if elemental. Based on casual observation though so if someone else want to double confirm that'd be good.

Another problem I see is that if huge elemental damage mods is the main component to increase DPS of a weapon, then the base attack speed of a weapon would be far more important. Eg. a dagger with +1000 poison is a lot better then a heavy hammer with +1000 poison. They should've made the primary DPS raising mods to be % based

Oh... so you mean that the damage of this example, 392-873, includes the poison damage? So... if there wouldn't be a poison mod, this weapon's damage would be 106-246?

yep, see:

For a first hand feel you can always stick a ruby into socketed weapon to see it in action.
