We've been around formally since 2004 but actually go back into the late 90's. Originally based in CS 1.6 the group has grown much further afield since then including a still 90th percentile CSS server, the current #1 USA L4D2 server and now-retired games such as UT2K4 ONS and many others. GW2 will probably grab a good chunk of our membership as well in a few months time and our organization is likely to explode once CS:GO finally drops. Hell of a year for PC games...
We've got support from the wonderful people at TypeFrag who back us with server and ventrillo hardware/services, multiple servers in Chicago and Washington DC, and big pile of people who like the casual, low-maintenance group of mature folks we tend to attract. Membership is world-wide but the bulk of our members are continental USA, mainly Midwest and Coastal.
No applications, no money, nothing like that. People who contribute financially do so for server reserves, to support our organization or the jump to server admin but none of that is required of anyone.
For DIII we're just getting the word out that if you need a safe enjoyable home, you got one here. We're not going to begrudge people making bank on their sweet Diablo loots but we'll tend to trade and often just give away items amongst ourselves. Our servers play hard but collaboration and having fun trump all else.
We're not for everyone, that's for sure. Zero tolerance for hacks, botters and $%^&#@'s
If your long-term goal is competitive PvP you'll likely be happier elsewhere; most of us will be on the loot hunt forever.
Drop in, look around, say hi, share your battletag.
Can you believe it's finally here?
