if i have deadly reach at left mouse button and crippling wave at 1, and i would like to use crippling wave, that means i will spam 111? this means that i will put 2 generators in my skill bar for situational use but i dont want to switch skills around due to MF bonus for champion kills

Yep. Note that for many skills, an action bar key (1-4) will still move your character unless you have a valid target selected. So to use Crippling Wave, you will still need to highlight an enemy with the mouse, and then hit the "1" key. You won't be able to just spam 1 with nothing targeted, unless you hold down the shift key.

thanks.. so there isn't a rearrange skill buttons without affecting MF?

Not sure about that. I believe that currently swapping skill slots (not choosing new skills, just dragging the skill buttons) forces a cooldown as though you did switch skills, so that would probably affect MF. There's no button to swap skills in any slot (like the tab key in D2), that I'm aware of, either.

Yeah there isnt an easy way to swap skill buttons without changing the skills themselves - a bit lame. :p

That said, it doesn't really become relevant until lvl 60, so you should have a much better idea of what key setup works best for you by then. :)

ok then, i guess we just have to use 1 generator after level 60 then, unless we want to switch between left button and a number key to generate all those spirit :p

In elective mode you can rearrange skills already assigned to your bar/mouse by dragging them around and that will not trigger the swap skill cooldown.

With the caveat that you can't drag them to a slot that isn't unlocked yet (e.g. default '3' and '4' at max beta level, for example). After level 19 this point becomes irrelevant as all slots are unlocked. I am assuming, also, this hasn't changed yet.

Why would anyone drag a skill to a locked slot?

So I can use it with the key press I feel most comfortable with without having to go into the keybinding options more than once.

Oh wow, I didnt know that :P. There you go, blankblank - you CAN swap the key assignment of your skills at lvl 60 without lsing the nephalem valour buff / triggering cooldowns :P.

That's not true. Moving skills around on the hotbar does trigger the respec cooldown. Try it outside Tristram and you'll see. Even putting back a skill to its original slot starts the cooldown, which is absolutely ridiculous.

Hmm, they must've changed it this patch. In previous patches you could shuffle skills at will if they were already assigned to your bar and there'd be no cooldown triggered.

Ok nevermind what I said Blankblank, I was right the first time >_>.

Wow we're just going to be really confusing this guy :P.

I can only say, that in patch 15 it definitely worked like this as well. This frustrated me so much, that I even created a thread about this on the official forums. :)

Punishing players for rearranging their hotbar is seriously not cool.

this is not wholy true ; if you put a generator on 1-4 you can just hold down the according key and even navigate your character this way ;
if you your mouse happens to be over an enemy at the time you are holding the generator down ; the generator will be executed as soon as you are in range to hit. (due to the range you will execute deadly reach and crippling wave earlier than wothf and Fists of Thunder)

i found it very combfortable to navigate myself through dungeons this way with Fists of Thunder ; as you don't have to tap keys frantically.

However i found it less useful for Deadly reach and crippling wave as it fires as soon as an enemy is in range ; however often thats not very effective and you get more out of these skills if you position yourself cleverly.
