Its not in the official notes and people have reported you still get 6 ingame. Always take unofficial reports with a grain of salt before going and shouting the sky is falling.

Yeah I played the beta today and it seemed normal.. it's definitely not down to 1 spirit per attack. Would kind of make generators useless I think.

Most likely an error/conflict during the datamining process. It would be kind of ridiculous to have to do 100+ attacks (or even 200+ attacks if using exalted soul) to fill up your spirit. Not to mention we barely got any buffs to our spenders to make up for it.
