Should be playable @ high, but since it's not a gaming GPU I can't guarantee there won't be any glitches, should be fine though.

Thanks for reply.
I planning to buy a new laptop.
For gaming, is it T series (NVIDIA NVS4200M Optimus 1GB)
better than W series(NVIDIA Quadro 1000M Optimus Graphics technology (2GB))
in Thinkpad.

Quadro 1000M is slightly better than the NVS4200M. What's your job exactly ? Are you mainly using AutoCAD ?

So why do you choose laptops with Quadro video cards if you are not doing any video editing / CAD ?

I have pretty similar laptop as cocoatm, but W520.

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Professional (64-bit) Service Pack 1
CPU Type: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2630QM CPU @ 2.00GHz
CPU Speed: 2.59 GHz
System Memory: 6.00 GB
Video Card Model: NVIDIA Quadro 1000M
Desktop Resolution: 1600x900

Many Quadro cards are listed as unsupported. Is it possibile that cards such us 880M / 1000M might be unsupported? Or they have enough memory size and we should be only worried if they will perform well enough to reach high?

They are probably unsupported, meaning Blizzard won't care that much if it works or not on these types of video card because they are not meant for gaming. That being said, they all derives from the same chip (similar to the GeForce GT 540M) and they have the power to drive DIII so they should work.

It is because my home, my office all of Thinkpad Power Adapter... and I think thinkpad has not bad quantity.
And not much desktop replacement in Hong Kong.

Tilitoon thank you! Now it is crystal clear for me :)

Even though I hope it will work fine. I have found a card driver at Nvidia website which is recommended to use for playing latest PC hot games such as D3. What they are saying about it:

This driver is a recommended upgrade for all GeForce users, especially those playing the latest hot PC games like Battlefield 3, Blacklight: Retribution, Diablo III, Mass Effect 3, or The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and more. These drivers come packed with GeForce-exclusive performance and quality enhancements and are Microsoft WHQL-certified.

I think that if Nvida has released such driver for some of Quadro cards line and they recommend it for games such as D3, then the card will be working.

Here is a link:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/notebook-win7-winvista-296.10-whql-driver.html

PS. In my W520 I have two video cards. I have also found at D3 official board a thread about problem with cards switching to the proper one once you start D3. If you have Nvidia Optimus technology in your laptops you should read also: https://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/3424687818

Yes, I'm aware of those 2 things. There are some threads on these forums about Optimus, apparently some of the recent drivers have fixed the issues but most of the people who tried it are using gaming video cards so I can't confirm if it works 100% on Quadro's. But I'm pretty sure it'll work, if not during the Beta, when the game launches.

Hey guys,

I just had a chance to test it out on beta :) Works pretty well on my W520 with Quadro 1000M. After first launch of the game there were no problems with Optimus. Settings of video card were all high by default except shadows which were medium. On this setup FPS rate was changing very fast but was constantly above 26+. Once I switched shadows to high as well it was pretty the same just some times I feel I have encourted some really small lags.

Hope it is going to be helpful for any of you with the similar laptop and/or video card.

Maybe it is possible to set it up better somehow (i.e. there are some minimum FPS in background or foreground but I have no idea what it changes).

The max fps in foreground is the fps cap while you are playing the game, it prevents your hardware to work too hard without giving you any real benefit (for example if you have a very good CPU + Video card and you would get 100+ fps). The max background fps is the same cap except it is active when you alt+tab out of the game or you are playing in windowed mode and the game is not "active" for example if you have dual monitor and you are surfing a Web page on the second monitor while having the game run in a window in the first monitor.

The same here. The same video card, only my CPU is different - core i7 620M and the laptop model is different - HP ElliteBook. Pretty happy that I will be able to run the game, one of the few games I have played. :)

My laptop was pre-assembled. When I bought it 2 years ago, I didn't care about GPU, I just wanted to have enough power and resources for the next several years. Still pretty happy with the machine, probably won't think about replacement yet at least 3-4 years.
