Laptop choise

Heya,

(i know there are multipple similar threads, but each of them addresses different issues/perspectives).
So recently my old Samsung died and I'm looking for a new notebook.

I PRIMARY want it for university (programming, graphics, datamining), I usually play games on my Desktop PC.
However I want it to be able to run Diablo 3, for when im away LAN's or just asa backup option.

Doesn't have to be top details, I'd be fine with low-mid level details.

The price should be around 550-650€.

Now after researching a bit I came up with the following options:

Notes: Basicaly this one is better then the Sony option in every aspect except of the screen.

Which one would you guys advice?
Will the Sony be able to run Diablo 3?

That's a rather tough decision to make, you'd have to ask yourself if you prefer a bigger / better quality screen over performance in games. The GT 555M is substancially better than the 540M, plus the resolution is lower too so the games will run quite a bit better on the Lenovo.

Both will be able to handle DIII pretty much on high (the Sony will probably be in the ~30fps though...) providing Blizzard completly resolves the Optimus technology bug...

You'll likely hardly see any difference at all between 1366x768 and 1080p on a tiny laptop screen like 16" (41.6 cm), as far as graphic quality. You might want higher resolution support for your non-gaming work though, so you can see more on your screen. Another thing to consider is if either laptop has a glossy/reflective screen or a matte screen.

I went with the Sony,

The significantly higher resolution (+matte, higher brightness and contrast) beats the performance loss, since I'm not buying the notebook for gaming (and the 6-8 additional lines of code I will be able to see on the screen are quite a lot)
