With wow.incgamers now defunct, we have opened the WoW section here for any WoW players to discuss the game and may move on to Diablo 3 also.

Thanks, Rush, for our own little corner on the forums!

Yea, thanks for doing this Rush!

I kinda miss lurking the old forum. But I guess I can begin to post here, once Kung Fu Panda is released:D

You do know Kung Fu Panda is a ripoff from the Pandaren, not the other way around, right? :-)

That said, the idea of an Asian animal using Asian martial arts is not highly original anyway...

They're releasing the same race and class for both faction. Big mistake there.

Prepare to see nothing but pandas in battlegrounds immediately after release. :loveblush:

Well, I only use the title "Kung Fu Panda" because I think it's fun.

I actually stopped playing just after they announced the next expansion. It's going to be fun to return to the game, once the expansion hits the streets!

Yeah, it's definitely going to be hard to pick off your team mates from your enemies in the background if everyone rolls a Panda.

No desire for Pandas. Still want Ogres. 10+ years and we still need ogres.

I agree with most, I think Pandaren should have been exclusive to the Alliance, while the Horde could have gotten Ogres, that way, the possibility of Rexxar becoming warchief after the overthrown of Garrosh would be feasible. Thrall should stay as the aspect of Earth, and all the other candidates (horde leaders) are not suitable for warchief, to be honest.

Also, I think Monk should have been a hero class, like Death Knights. Perhaps a "You leave your path at 55 to become a monk" type of scenario.

Great ideas, Val!

I'm still enjoying WoW. Recently got my undead rogue to 85, and have been having a blast playing my tauren druid. Glad to see some WoW talk here!

Wait, I thought it was part of the ToS on this site that you had to hate WoW with an irrational, festering rage.

Just went to cruise by the old site and saw it was closed. Hope to see everyone on the D3 boards.

Not on this section, SN. :smug:
We get to make our own little cult here.

I've been part of many cults, some as a leader, some as a follower. Leaders make more money, but followers have more fun.

Totally agree!

I would come back to the game to see Thoq reborn in style.

(Also... HAX!)

Honestly I think the idea of a Neutral Race is awesome, but I don't like how they handled it. "At level 10 you chose your faction"....why not chose it from the beginning. Horde will be Horde and Vice Versa...Its not like, as a Horde Player, when I get to level 10 im going to change my mind and be like, you know what, I wanna be alliance instead. Also, what about PvP servers? What if you have all horde characters, then you make a Pandaren and when you get to level 10 you chose alliance. Will it kick you off the server? Will the server crash? (It's been a long time since I rolled on PvP servers, but I am assuming that you still can not have both Horde and Alliance toons on a PvP server)

I think it's a great idea for the story of a neutral race. You get into the story and then make a choice of sides for your Panda. Sure, you might know which side you are going from the start, but the story of the race benefits from showing you the choice.

Hmmm I'm pickin up what your puttin down. Makes sense from that perspective. Like I said, I do like the idea. I didn't think of it from a purely story-line aspect, which now that you mention it, is pretty awesome.

I have to admit I haven't thought about PvP servers yet. It's a good question, what will happen if you let a Pandaren have another faction than your current one on the server? I've looked up a bit and can't find a blue answer to this, but I read a few unconfirmed posts that you can have both Alliance and Horde characters on a PvP server in MoP, probably just restricted to Pandaren. But as I said, entirely not sure since I can't find any blue confirmation.

Same with language, actually. Pandaren somehow magically lose the ability to understand others who joined the opposite faction. It's sad, but understandable. The Undead were originally speaking Common as well, but after a few weeks of beta PvP Blizzard had to change that, and let's just say there's your reason their language is now called "Gutterspeak"...

We do understand that, by not allowing pandaren of the opposite faction to communicate with one another, there's a breakdown in the story there. But we feel strongly at this point that changing the precedent on cross-faction communication for one race only will ultimately not lead to a good gameplay experience. We're very excited to introduce a race that can be chosen by either faction, though we don't see our philosophy on cross-faction communication changing as a result of this.

Mists changes look fun and all that, but the story is whack. We got the old gods, sargeras, and whoever else is left; but now were back to horde vs alliance for "funzies"? To me, it seems like a wasted expansion when many people have already put in 5+ years to the game. Imo, get to the end within the next 2-3 years and release the next mmo.

I thought you could have both factions on a PvP server for a while now - might be totally wrong though ...

Also, what happened to the WoW part of Incgamers? Something horrible? Or did it just fizzle out?

Siege Valgore

Not sure if there ever was a strong WoW base in IncGamers. I inquired about it when I first joined up but there just wasn't enough interest in it I guess. They only just recently added back in this Sub Forum. I'm glad they did.

Siege, there was a separate WoW section on Incgamers until two months ago: wow.incgamers.com. It was actually a very active community from pre-launch in 2004 until about 2010-2011, when the activity started to decline. None of the administrators still play, so the interest to keep that part of Incgamers going was pretty low. The community died out with a few exceptions (waflob and me being two of them). As a moderator, my only job was basically delete buckloads of spam every day, there were almost no new interesting threads being made there. The decision was made to shut those forums down. There is only one thing I pity, and that is that I liked to browse old threads for nostalgic reasons - it's a pity they're gone.

So there you have your answer, waflob. It did indeed fizzle out. Glad to see your face here, I hope you stick around! And yeah, you could be right about PvP servers, come to think of it. I don't play on one.

Ahhhh got it. Well I will be balancing back and forth between Diablo 3 and WoW so I will find myself here often :)

Thanks for the insight Snowie. I did get the impression that the spammers were the most active 'people' there.
I guess I'll be dividing my spare time between WoW and D3, but time will tell.

I can't wait for the pet battles since i am a vanity pet collector. I will have the 151 pets at launch which is the total of the original Pokemon.

Bummed to hear the WoW forums died out. I used to drop in there often (aka PlayThemAll). Even though I had dropped off of the forums I still played the game intermittently til a few months ago. I finally deactivated my WoW accounts when D3 came out. I stumbled back here looking for some D3 info, so here I am. I recognise some of the names in this thread from a few years back, hope everyone is doing well.

I feel ya. We had a great community going (well, it was great during vanilla and the first couple of expansions) and I was sad to see it go. I never would have understood mmorpg mechanics without it.

Stumbled upon these forums while trying to find the old forums, as they seem to have gone poof sometime in the last few months >_>. Nice to see familiar faces here though. Had to name myself MistroII, seems my name has been taken on here or else the username is locked from the old wow forums. I'm not that big into Diablo, but I'll probably be around on here.

Wow, I only just heared about the shutdown of the old forums. But its probably for the best, it was indeed a bot spam fest. And a few of the old guys actualy made the trip from the d2 to the wow and now back to the d3 forums, crazy ^^

Its good to see you guys are still around on Incgamers :). I kind of miss chiming in on topics or helping new players. The official forums are a bit too fast paced and have such a huge volume of posts, and most of the good ones are on the EU side anyway.
