Some russian site that discovered rune icons from patch 13 are now trying to hack release client. Here's their progress so far:

Woah these guys likes to live dangerously don't they?
I knew somebody would try to break through Blizzards defenses. I kinda hope they're not successful though, I don't want to see all the cinematics...can't control myself though.

Agree with this. I hope they fail hard. I'd rather not come to this forum in the coming weeks to have it bombarded with massive plot spoilers.

Looks like they can only extract installer files, game data is encrypted. http://horadric.ru/vzlom-reliznogo-klienta-den-pervyj-t2341.html

Victorious.

Danger is my middle name
There is about 0.1% chance they will succeed. salsa20 encryption is serious business.
Thumbs down to these specific individuals.

What's the point? To say they can? :scratchchin:

Datamining. The bane of spoiler haters.
@pillsandadvice
I loled at that video.
The protection relies on the encryption of the installer MPQs, not on the setup executable that can be easily tricked with some debugging knowledge. The files and Deckard Cain introduction text found on their website will be what we see while installing the game, some sort of general introduction, and are contained it the setup executable, not the "Installer Tomes" Mpqs.
Unless Blizz made a noob mistake, I think we're fine.

Lousy, rotten, cheating, hackers. Same creeps that totally destroyed Diablo II's economy with their duplicated runes and other nonsense. Nice to see Blizzard's defenses kept them out.

Pendraig-HKW....there's a HUGE difference between datamining and what you're saying.

It's nice to know that there are still intertron cavemen around who know little to nothing about what they think is "hacking".

Even if they manage to hack it, this is what they wrote in the video description:
Installation process of D3 retail client. We're not gonna post any datamined info from retail client till May 15th so we won't spoil it for you.
