Not so long ago fell to the idea that the new rune system actually unbalanced the whole PVP game so they went back to the old concept (im aware that the runes we use now are actually an older concept) and now they have to start the balancing from start?

or...

Its good for business and selling copies by avoiding piracy patching an important part of the content later.

Some people says that they may never release the patch, i hope its not the case, however i am paying for a finished game, they should sell a finished game or i can simply patch the cash for blizz later on if they don't mind. We where playing Diablo 3 PvP in Blizzcons for two years now?

Im sure they have some advanced work of pvp done, they must have been doing something during all these years.

I'm thinking it's neither of those. They just wanted to have the PvP at perfection and did not feel that it's quite at perfection level yet.

Maybe they aimed to test PvP within the beta but did not get a chance to because of all the client/server issues they encountered, and did not want to delay the release in order to do so.

Simple, it sucked.

Initially, they thought they could have an arena where they didn't have to make any adjustments. Just drop two teams of four in and let them fight. Except you play this and it sucks. Players never die, or players die in one hit. Players are stunned forever, or players can run away forever. Certain classes, builds, or group compositions absolutely dominate despite equal skill or equal items. There are tons of different things that can make 4v4 arena suck.

I can tell you this, if PvP in D2 was just 4v4 via matchmaker on a handful of arena maps, it would have sucked.

I like your posture! This could be just right.
I was thinking, just like chat channels in D2! Why change something that already worked so well?
Do you think that free world "hostile mode" would improve PvP? I somehow think so... It gives that PK feeling back and one hit kills would be pure backstabbing while hostile moments in game would be really moody and remarkable!

Arenas are too much Tron in my opinion.

Why can't they just make PVP an option for games...that will control the trolling and prevent people from grief hostile PK. Not sure from a dev PoV how hard this would be, but doesn't seem like it should be that complex to just disable the ability to hostile...would probably be similar coding to how you can't hostile low levels...

It should be as simple as disable the hostile option while creating a game. Why not?

RMAH > pvp. :smug:

This is old news TJ. Im sure they spent more time on RMAH than PVP, that is something im sure they are taking care to release with the game, would be funny if they needed to patch it latter tough..

pvp was worked on and they felt confortable enough to let us test it at Blizcons. I call that a product promise and the product will be delivered incomplete.

Pvp was never central to the Diablo gameplay, so why give something away that can be DLC for those interested? This will also be incentive for the console players, as the PvP patch/DLC will likely launch along side the console version.

I dont think it might be as much as people think, everyones saying oh theyve had x amount years to work on it, we was playing pvp arena at blizzcon, it was fine etc etc.

The pvp arenas are likely to have been finished a long time ago, the classes have their skills set now so its not balancing thats holding it up, they have the capability to host pvp...so what could it be?
My guess, they dont like either the way you join pvp, such as the system for joining a game of that sort really doesnt work well at the moment, doesnt find games, finds games out of x value when it should be y value etc.
Or.
They dont like the way pvp functions altogether in respect of what do you earn from it, what about stats of W/L etc.

On that note I'd say that it wont be long after release that they do patch it in but they know they don't have time to finish polishing it right now, I'm betting all the fundamentals are in place but theres just some values that are off and probably need a little more depth so I wouldnt get your panties in too much of a twist because I bet you'll see pvp patch within a reasonable amount of time...and guess what? While youre not pvping you can actually go level and farm gear for...guess what...when you do get to pvp! Yay! x

They run out of time. They are rushing the game out now, probably the stockholders got mad of all these delaying and bad design management. But its clear that the moto of "when its done" has been overused in D3 and it got to a breaking point.

They just threw out a bunch of features along the way, which they are going to put back in an expansion. I'm thinking of the Mystic and the talisman specifically here.. because well three different crafting trees are too hard to customize in 5 years time. (lol)

I'm confident though they will add pvp in a patch, if I remember right bashiok did use 'soon'meaning 'patch' instead of 'later' which means 'never' or 'in an xpac'.

I tend to think removing hostile and not shipping with pvp were in the same conversations that decided to take going hostile out...well over a year ago. Anyway...let's hope the game ships this year!

Personally I don't see any upside from the hostile system.... unless you're the griefer of course...
