anyone else dislike the high tier monk armor?

It looks much, much better in-game. Especially with dyes.
It doesn't look like the icons in respect to coloring for the last tier, either. It's more of a purple-ish color in-game, and actually quite pleasant.

*sigh of relief* good, I always wondered why no one posted about it. Thanks!

what about the inferno armor for the monk does it look better in game? I think it looks ridiculous with the helm

I thought I had some shots from the game cam, but this is the final monk tier in-game (except for the helm because the helm crashes the client):

So it's not clownish bright-red.

I believe you can hide any piece of armor with Vanishing Dye (http://www.diablowiki.net/File:IconDyeVanishing.png)!

I love the monk inferno armor... especially the crazy bladed shoulders... :D

But then again, I'm used to the ridiculousness of WoW armor sets...

I'm on the opposite end of the thought spectrum. I can see I will be using the Vanishing Dye a Lot on my Monk! I don't dislike the look of the armor per se, but I think the skills and the basic concept is such that armor, even that flimsy looking silver stuff runs counter to the quick strike artist that is our monk.

I guess if that is the thinking though, then the most bad*(# monk would be butt neked.

To be honest I think most high level armour looks terrible. The armour in the screenshot looks acceptable, providing its wearer is named Gabriel and is wielding a chain whip. The major problem with that armour is it looks nothing like what a monk would wear.

I wish a lot of the sets looked better, not just the Monk, but if you compare it to others there's really a lot of weird stuff going on.

But there's something to like about Monk sets too! Here's what they showed at BlizzCon:

And I really do like at least the last 6 sets, look closely for a lot of nice details:

I really like the look of the lvl 50 armour set. The art anyway, no idea what it looks like in game but hopefully its cool and hopefully I can craft some Inferno-viable versions of it.

I´ve always liked the look of the low level armour more than the end-game alternatives, Diablo 3 is no exception. It's just too much.

I think the Monk has the worst armor...every other class looks more less cool but Monk...and I wanted to play Monk :(

Don't they see that the Monk armors make him look like a circus clown?

The torso/leg armor seems fine (considering that we can dye them), but the pauldrons and helms seem the most over-the-top.

Sometimes that might be cool. I could see enjoying the full gear look. But I think I'd probably pick subdued colors for my body armor, and vanish the pauldrons and helm. If I wanted an ascetic look, I'd vanish my boots, bracers, and perhaps gloves. Alternatively, I could see vanishing everything but the pauldrons and helm, or something like that, for a unique gladiatorial look.

Edit: I think the over-elaborate pauldrons are my least favorite general feature, for any class. I hope they make a "glamer" dye that makes a high level armor look like a low level one. Edit2: And the pauldrons for that blue set are an exception. Maybe it's more fair to say that I don't like pointy-shiny pauldrons.

I really like that green/brownish armor after some dye and gray armor set without helmet. First i didn't like monk armors at all. All other characters did have better looking sets but after sometime looking at those i think those are fine.

I agree. Simple is better in my opinion, for the Monk at least.
