Hi all.

I've been reading these forums for a while, but this is my first post. I'm getting back in to Diablo and decided to go single player after having all of my characters time out on battle.net.

Anyway, I'm here to ask a question. I'm playing my first character so no items but what he finds etc. I killed Baal on normal yesterday. I've been using Hal's concentrate barb build up to now. Baal dropped an Ethereal Ribcracker. I was shocked as I've never had an item this good drop. Now however I find myself at a loss as to what to do with it. What character builds would be good with this weapon? It being Ethereal I can't really use it unless I Zod it, and I'm not gonna find one of them..... ever. Is there any other way I can utilize it? I suppose last resort I could just trade it to someone who can use it...

Cheers for any ideas

It is especially useful for a fury werewolf, but really any 2h melee char can make good use of it until something better drops. Having it eth reduces it's use to a brief time. You could always use it until it has only a little durability left, then stash it away until you have a zod drop (if it ever happens ;))
Another 'use' is to keep it stashed as a trophy.

It depends also on the roll, I doubt anyone has so much Zod runes to stick one of them into low ED Ribcracker

So before your first Zod drop, you could leave it in stash for few months/years, or if you want to use it, Blade Fury is a skill that will benefit from its damage and CB but doesn't change durability.

So make an assasin :-)

Well it has 274% Ed, so not bad. I'll try the assassin thing ta. It is a nice trophy. I didn't even know it could drop that early in the game. It just seems a shame to keep it as a trophy and not use it when it beats all my current weapons into oblivion

kicksin, blade fury assassin are the two builds I can think of.

You will still need the runes for upgrade :whistling: And although you won't benefit from the IAS directly, since blade fury is IAS independent, it will make your trap laying speed faster, so all important mods (ED, CB, FHR, IAS) are nor wasted. At least I suppose that you will be using death sentry as a typical blade fury hybrid assasin.

welcome to the forums/

keep for eth grail:crazyeyes:

furysin seems the only useful way to put it in use. But using 2H weapons, blade fury does only 3/8 of the melee damage, so you won't get much damage out of it. Ribcrackers are best when upped to stalagmite, since base damage is way more than a quarterstaff. If you have a high %ED roll on yours, it can almost triple the damage output. That will cost you only a Pul.
