View Full Version : Skill Calculator not updated
I thought that the website was linked to the beta...aparently not.
Monk is showing deadly reach @ 125% weapon dmg when patch notes indicate 120% up from 110%...

The website is *not* linked to the beta. The website is linked to the internal build of the game, which is *not* the beta.

Keep in mind that we're playing around a lot with Hatred generation/spending. Overall we like it, but some of the numbers are just off - especially in the beta. The nature of testing and deploying an update just means the build you're playing on is already a few weeks old.
For example on the current internal version Impale costs 25 Hatred and does 275% weapon damage, and Hungering arrow is a generator.
We'll try to share those types of things when we can.

Well most might have noticed but its now updated. Lots of changes across the board.
Electrocute down to 40% damage from 150% damage, pretty big change. Also a lot of the runes seem to have been toned down in effectiveness, example meteor doesn't do that insane amount of damage with crimson anymore.

We expected this to happen, or at least I did...it was really overpowered at 150% but you are missing another change that makes it a little better: Lightning arcs from your fingertips at double your normal attack speed.
Yeah it was going to change obviously, i doubt people would of picked 40% from 150% though lol. That's quite a decrease in power!
Lulz. Indigo rune definitely has to change now.
What I find weird is Pillar of the Ancients. 211% weapon damage for 60 spirit and a 15 second cd. Who would use that? There's not even a reason to use that over the base skill.

What about Seven Sided Strike spirit cost change...90 spirit, really? 215% per strike is nice though.
Beacon of Ytar seems almost useless if you try to use it with SSS, 135 spirit is 90% of your spirit since max is now 150! I suppose you could maybe generate 135 spirit faster than 30 seconds.

Reminds me of the uproar over late game items. If a skill was incredibly powerful, but extremely ugly/silly/lame, would you use it? What's your cut-off ratio for utility/aesthetics? Personally, if a pink fluffy bunny suit gave me +1 attack, I'd probably use it...

I'm a bit weird in that skill aesthetics are really important to me, but I don't care about what my character looks like.
In D2 I've attempted to make an Inferno source multiple times because I just really loved the look of the skill, especially at high levels shooting over the length of the screen. After a big patch would be released I'd make one to see if they fixed the bug, but they never did. Also made a wind druid pre-synergies that was horribly underpowered. But I never made a WW barb because I didn't like the look or handling of the skill (WW in D3 however, I'm very excited to try out). Same with a Blizz sorc.
But gear never bothered me. The giant peanut shell found itself atop many of my character's heads.

I've been wondering about this one as well. Either we will have some damn good spirit generating going on or no one is going to use that passive. Also bummed that spirit caps at 150 and mantras are only 60 seconds now.
There is more to that passive than just SSS. And you can raise the Spirit Cap to at least 250 (probably more with gear?). And we can have at least 3 simultaneous source types for spirit generation at a time (combo, passive generation granted by golden runes for other skills, gear).
