Not sure if this has been posted.
but, I found new wizard passive skill in skill calculator.

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/wizard#!a

'Conflagration' is unlocked at lvl 0(maybe TBD) and also skill icon is black so far.

p.s. monk passive skill 'Beacon of Ytar' icon is changed black. I think icon will be returned new one.

It(Conflagration) has been posted(not sure if it was on this subforum or over at the D3 General Discussion).

Beacon of Ytar being changed black is news to me.

yeah, all classes except the WD have new passives. ( Barbs have now 15 passives )

The only new passive is the wizard one. All the others didn't change.

why would they even bother making that one of the first unlockable passives?

not like you can cast meteor or hydra until later...

ehh i'm sure they'll change it.

It only appears first in the list cause it has no level right now. On another note I agree with what I saw someone else say. This passive should really be for the witch doctor, he has so many more fire skills than the wizard.

Nah. The WD is already oozing attack buffs out of every orifice.

There's no need to do that. It doesn't specify the source of the fire damage, so I think that fire weapons just became preferable for some wizard builds.

Yup. And there is an enchant to put fire damage on any weapon. Since we no longer have an attack rating system, it's basically a passive that turns your wand shot into a nice little amp damage debuff.

You can also put a crimson rune (fire bolts) on Shock pulse, for an early fire damage spell.

The problem is that level 1 runes currently have a level requirement of 14 and start dropping only in Act 2, so Conflagration still doesn't make any sense as such an early passive.

EDIT: Just realized, that Conflagration's tooltip doesn't say at what level it's unlocked, so most likely it will be at level 14 or later.

Yup, pretty safe to say that they aren't done with the new passives yet, they imported them half. I think Blizzard is aware of the long wait and is letting us in on what they're upto to 'keep the eggs warm' so to speak ;)

i also hope that every class gets the same amount of passives - i know you can only have 3 at a time - but i still dont think that it is fair that some classes can choose between 15 (barbarian) and some only between 12(WD)

You could use your wand to apply it, however the damage loss by taking a break from casting and wanding every 3 seconds would probably cancel out the buff.

The optimal way to use this would be with fire spell spamming, of which unfortunately we are very limited. I could see a Brimstone serpent build taking this, but other than that I don't see it being very useful.

There is another way:

Though this is an end game build, or at least requires some gears. Storm Armor is like the icing on the cake, can switch with Energy Armor + Alabaster for more % chance to crit and def.

Hardly. A Wand attack is like casting a Golden Rune Magic Missile. And if the damage multiplier is applied at the end, it will be a hefty damage increase. And if you combo it with Virtuoso, you essentially gain a combined Crimson + Golden Rune Magic Missile attack in form of your Wand, trading 1-2 passive slots for a bonus spell.

Or by combining Magic Weapon's Ignite effect with Spectral Blade and other PBAoE spells. With a fire weapon, Magic Weapon could be dropped or its rune swapped to something else.

I wonder if this passive includes weapons affixed with fire damage or only fire damage from skills...

Also, I think they need to put black ice back in (the one that increased damage to frozen enemies) if they are going to put in such a specialist one like this... I guess fire wizards will be much more viable now though...

Witch Doctors need more passives IMO... the one that's just for thorns on pets is kind of weak, and there's a lot just for mana management...

Agree, now that Arcane and Fire spells already have their our specialties I think Blizzard should give something to boost Ice and Lightning spells too....

Was that an old passive?

EDIT: Nevermind, found it in the wiki. I should search before asking questions. :)

Yep... and I also miss Ball of Lightning... although that one is kind of redudant with storm armor... but they could do something else for lightning...

Temporal Flux works with arcane damage from your weapons (see this post (http://diablo.incgamers.com/forums/showthread.php?p=8046173#post8046173)). Conflagration shouldn't be different.
