Have anyone seen or heard of people playing the beta on a mac yet?

i've been searching and can't find anything, but maybe my google-fu just sucks.

Just interested to see performance on mac, and specifically macbook pro's.

i was thinking. shouldn't those of us with macs be first to test, as we can test the windows and mac client with bootcamp?

lol one can only hope

Of course it runs fine on a Mac, as long as the hardware allows it.
The only reason why you don't see a lot of people saying they're running it on a Mac in OSX is because of the lack of good capturing/streaming software (not my words, someone said that on a livestream)
Those just run Windows on their Mac and that works fine too.

It's mainly the graphics card that has to be good enough and sadly a lot of people with Mac barely talk about them...makes me wonder if they even know what they have.

I was mainly talking about the graphics. I.e on my mid 2009 9400m 2.26Ghz Core2 Duo.

Having it run on my macbook pro and my desktop is a huge convenience for travelling and "LANS". Saves me lugging a tower case around.

Well...what's your graphics card? Geforce 9400 M?

Info taken from http://diablo.incgamers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=809792
"Low NVIDIA GeForce 9400 M"

It'll run but on lowest settings.

Medium Nvidia GeForce GT 330M - You'll find the complete list Here (http://diablo.incgamers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=809792), as Dahmer referenced. Looks like you should be good to go, although, why settle for Medium ;) Looks like an upgrade is in your near future, eh?

Nowadays, I would say ANY Video card under 512MB would need a replacement. They go for relatively cheap, depending on your budget. But I'd say if you have the extra Cash, don't skimp out on a Video Card. You can get a 1GB DDR3 Nvidia card for around $129.99

Probably because iMacs, Macbooks and Mac Minis have embedded GPUs. Only the Mac Pro has a proper graphics card, and Pros aren't all that popular (among consumers).

nn to upgrade. people get so caught up in numbers. same thing with digital cameras.

it isn't always all about numbers people. its about how those numbers are used.
i could have a processor with lower stated gHz, but if it's an i series with hyper-threading it can still outrun the higher stated number cpu.

For example:

Thanks to the new microarchitecture, the graphics processor is on the same chip as the central processor and has direct access to L3 cache. That proximity translates into performance. The graphics processor also automatically increases clock speeds for higher workloads.

Turbo Boost is a dynamic performance technology that automatically increases the speed of the active cores — up to 3.4GHz. Turbo Boost 2.0 is even more dynamic and efficient. By shifting core frequency in smaller increments than before, it allows the processor to manage performance without sacrificing efficiency

I also opted-in for the Bet with my MBP. But right now I am actually assuming that Mac users would be among the last to receive an invite. The majority of people will play on Windows, so I would think that OS to be their focus right now. I could be wrong, of course...
