Looking at the skill calulators it says that "you can only have one mantra active at a time" but does this apply to other characters in your party? I.e can I have 4 monks each with a different mantra active so that we have all of them? Or is it 1 mantra per party?

Beta testers or experienced people please advise.

Yes you can have 4 different mantras if you have 3 other monks in party with you. Saw it in a beta stream where two monks was partied and used different mantra.

I wonder how similar mantras will stack. If 2 monks use Mantra of Evasion with different rune effects will the rune effects stack? Imagine the base buff will not stack due to how OP that will be.

It will be just like the Paladin parties in D2. If planned right and played together. That combination was just sick....

My guess is that the highest lv Characters Mantra would override a lower lv Characters. Or, they could alternate, I could see that happening if different Runestones where used.

Next question,

reading mantra of retribution it says that it reflects melee damage back to enemies = to 40% of damage taken...does that mean that 40% damage reduction since it is reflected? I know it is semantics but if it "returned" 40% damage that would mean whatever you take you give 40% back. I read that as a straight reduction of 40% because it bounces off of you..

Yes or no?

Effectively Thorns aura, you return 40% sent of all damage done to you as passive damage to any attackers. Which is quite low imo. In diablo 2, thorns had like 700% damage returned.

You probably just made a developer cry and added at least a month to the release date. Nice job.

You can't really compare them without knowing the ratio of how much damage monsters do vs how much hp they have. It's possible to set the ratio so that 40% in D3 is actually more effective than 700% in D2. Or not.

Dont forget barbie warcries.

Personally im inclined to think that the strongest mantra/warcry takes presedence. Easy and clean.

Elsewhise you could just have 4 barbs each with the health buffing warcry stacking through the roof.

I doubt that it reduces the damage you receive, since then it would be clearly better than Mantra of Evasion. The word "reflect" does imply, that you won't receive that damage, but I've never seen a damage shield effect like this work that way.

I think the tooltip should say, that attackers suffer 40% of their damage done as holy damage themselves, or something to that effect.

God a 4 monk party would be insane.

I do not think so each class has its own Co-op skill.

Barbarian Warcry : +100 defense + 50% max life
Wizard Slow time : +140% attack speed and cast speed for 10 sec
Demon Hunter Sentry : -36% dmg taken aura
Demon Hunter marked for death : +20% increased dmg taken on target
Witch Doctor Big bad voodoo : +15% ms - as - cast speed + 40% increase dmg for 20 sec.

HappyFriend,

I believe the WD also has a rune effect for Hex called Hedge Magic which heals nearby allies.

Edit: There are also a few skills from the WD and other classes that can bolster the chance of Health Globes spawning, which when picked up will heal all party members.

WD examples:
Summon Zombie Dogs - Final Gift
Upon death, your zombie dogs have an 85% chance of leaving behind a health globe.

Grasp of the Dead - Death is Life
Killed targets have a 65% chance to produce a health globe

Sort of off topic.

Do you need to keep a Mantra on your active skills for it to stay active?

Different Mantras from different monks will stack. It's also probably true that different rune effects stack. For instance, if you runed Mantra of Healing to "increase vitality 45%" and had another monk that runed MoH to Boon of Protection, they would stack. But if two monks both had Mantras of Healing that just regen'd health, they wouldn't stack and the highest level mantra would be in effect.
