Inspired by the recent Massdogfirebomber build, I came up with this variant.

http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/witch-doctor#ZgjXQT!XaU!bZaaaZ

This build revolves around creating and rapidly sacrificing LOTS of zombiedogs. And depending on how Mass Confusion and Big Bad Vodoo works with the cap on Summon Zombie Dogs, you could be looking at a quite rapid influx of dogs to constantly blow up and reward you with health orbs, which fuels your mana recovery and allowing you to keep spamming zombie charger, runed to explosive dog.

Then I am quite curious to see if the extra dogs is in addition to the hard cap of 4, or if they cause them to die or vanish. But in any case the abilities to summon more dogs exponentially empowers Sacrifice, because of the extra dogs you are generating, you are no longer 'bound' by the 60s cd on summon zombie dog in how often you can push the sacrifice button to blow them up.

I am also quite curious if the explosive dogs from zombie charger becomes sacrificable, then your potential damage bonus from Provoke the Pack, becomes rather obscenely huge. For not to think of the dogs spawned from big bad vodoo or mass confusion, and if they drop health orbs..

You're loosing a lot of potential by not taking Next of Kin I think. But yeah I've seen a lot of these builds. It will be interesting to see how they pan out. Big Bad Voodoo will have a 1 1/2 minute cd and Mass corruption will have a 60 seconds cd. So I dont know where you'll be getting your dogs from most of the time, give that Summon Zombie Dogs have a 60 second cd and you intend on Sacing them.

I personally think that the Zombie Charger dog is just a dog that runs out and then explodes in much the same way the zombie runs out. I doubt it would be permanent.

Hmm, very good point about Next of Kin, I actually hadnt seen it! Though that means no damage bonus from sacrifice. But yes, its infinitely better for a sacrifice build.

My point about Zombie dog charger was possibly to spam cast like 5 at once and pop them with sacrifice for a hefty bonus through provoke the pack before they hit anything and detonated.

Anyways, Ive revised the Doggoneit build

If you change Spirit Walk for Big Bad Voodoo with an Alabaster Rune, you can change Circle of Life for Vision Quest for a whole lot of mana to spam exploding Zombie Runner Dogs, not to mention more Zombie Dogs!

Mhm, suprised i forgot that one. Had it in the original build.

I think the only point of contention is what rune used in Soul Harvest, if you need even more mana or you should rune it to heal instead. But I think having a button for mana on demand is good, as you will generate a LOT of health orbs from exploding your dogs.

I would replace it for Spirit Barrage - The Spirit is Willing, considering you have Pierce the Veil.

I am fully expecting soul harvest to stack ontop of the bonus from pierce the veil, and you can never get enough +damage.

I really love this build! I didn't even know that BBV and MC could spawn Zombie Dogs, I guess we can only hope that the runes will let you pass the cap of 4 dogs :)

I'd probably go this build though, slightly changed: http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/witch-doctor#ZTXfjQ!XYa!baaZaa

Since you'll be getting a truckload of health orbs, having Gruesome Feast would be awesome, considering "Attack" increases all damage (Not sure about the conversion though), and having Circle of Life -should- fix any mana issues.. and then Firebomb with Crimson to get the best direct damage possible, with the bonus to attack it should hit very hard!

Id say having both firebomb and zombie charger is pretty redundant since they both serve as spam nuke. You will be better served with soul harvest.

I think Gruesome Feast and Circle of Life is a viable alternative to Pierce the Veil and Vision Quest, both gives mana and extra damage.

Infact if ALL your zombie dogs have a chance to drop health orbs and not just the ones explicitly summoned from Summon Zombie dog, then I think Circle of Life may outclass vision quest for mana recovery. Plus it elegantly eliminates the need of keeping all your skills on cooldown for mana regen.
For not to talk of ease of keeping up the gruesome feast buff.

If this is true, then Blood Ritual outclasses both VQ and CoL.

Also, you need at least two different sources of damage, right? We are still gonna see immunes in Nightmare, is what I think is the deal?
