How much Arcane Power does a level 60 Wizard have, without any items or buffs on?
That's an interesting information to help balance Arcane Power consumption on builds and I'm sure others wonder about it as well. Does anyone know?
100 base AP with 750/min base regen ... regardless of level ... to the best of my knowledge. Items can raise the base AP .. also they can return AP on monster death to the best of my knowledge. I assume there will be items to alter your regen. also (perhaps consumables .. I have seen items that alter health regen. but not Resource regen .. yet) .. All your rapid fire will only cost 1AP anyway.
SS Evidence below (sorry blurry .. taken on my laptop on the train .. very low res .. that's what the game looks like on the very lowest settings .. on a basic video card .. res 1366x768)
Note the level 5 Wizard has a +1AP item (equipped for your benefit)
i see that's mean about more than 12 AP per second, quite high I'd say
Slightly off topic, but does Defense have any effect at all on the Wizard?
I was under the impression that it would reduce damage at least to some degree, but 14 Defense and 22 Defense both do nothing. And that is even combined with 20 and 71 Armor, respectively - although we don't know how Armor and Defense work together or display together.
Short Answer: Yes.
When you mouse over my defense it says:
Reduces all damage from level 10 enemies by 0.00% .. I simply do not have enough .. Elixir If I put a shield on it's the same .. but it gives me a 10-15 Block Amount and an 18.8% Block Chance (same as description of shield)
Drinking a Minor of Resistance boosts me to 27 and while my Block chance and amount do not change .. Defense now indicates all damage reduced by 3.23% (Dodge Chance still 0.0%).
Mousing over my armor it says:
Reduces Physical Damage from level 10 enemies by 12.43%

0% damage reduction is probably Wizard's problem. On Barbarian's screenshots damage reduction from Defense is pretty significant.
EDIT: Oh, ursustas, is Defense bonus from that pink potion? Strange the number "27" is blue, not purple.

I wonder why AP Reg isn't already given in seconds. 750 per minute sounds strange oO

One of the Wizard passives gives "2 arcane power per second". The other source of arcane power regeneration is the Familiar runestone effect for 270 per minute.
Just a guess, but "per minute" effects may only apply when your resource would be generating naturally (I am assuming that there is no regeneration while casting) whereas "per second" effects apply always.
