View Full Version : D3 System Hardware Advice
I was wondering which one of my systems would be better suited to run Diablo 3 in light of the system requirements being officially listed. I understand I can use upgrades (which I am considering, but $$ is tight whilst in medical school).
System 1: Desktop
CPU: AMD 64 X2 4200+ 2.20GHZ
RAM: 2GB DDR2
Video Card: Nvidia 7900 GS
OS: Win 7
System 2: Laptop
CPU: Intel i5 2540M
RAM: 8GB DDR3
Video Card: Intel HD 3000
OS: Win 7
What are your thoughts? And why?
Also, what do you think would be cheapest/easiest upgrade to get the most out of my desktop?
Thanks.
Well since the game has a physics engine, that tells you it is GPU reliant.
that processor and ram are a intense problem on the first build if you plan to game though, so your better off with the second build.

Yea, but with Intel HD 3000 graphics he's not gonna be able to play on anything besides 1024x768 with everything on low.
This one is a tough call. It's almost a lose/lose situation.
I agree. It is a tough call. I was hoping it would run on low/medium settings at least on one of my systems.
Hopefully, around the time D3 releases, I can upgrade my Desktop.
So CPU/MOBO and RAM should be my first upgrades?
You'd be able to play on a better res than that, although it wouldn't be much higher.
Honestly though, I'd save until I could get something a lot better than those systems you posted.

Totally.
If you are really really tight on budget I would go with an i3-2100, 4gb DDR3, H61 motherboard combo. Should cost $200ish all together.
Thanks for the input. I think I'll wait and save until we get closer to a release date.
